September 20th, 2021
Today everything has changed, the sky is a dark red, mot a single star in the sky. My eyes are watery from the smoke and my skin is warm from the heat, the air is hot and dry and I can hear this soft sizzling noise. It reminds me of when my mother cooks and the pan is so hot the food begins to sizzle. All night has been insane, it feels like a fever dream, or just like a dream.

There is no way I am actually experiencing this, there's no way I'm seeing my neighbors hide themselves in their house and watching people get evacuated from their homes, their homes. Home is where people are supposed to feel safe and right now home isn't safe. I feel like crying, my throat is sore and my body is achy. All of my belongings are gone, my favorite nail polish and that cute knitted top I had gotten from my grandmother. gone.

Its now morning, so far over 3,000 homes have been destroyed, the costal highway has been destroyed and the lava has formed a new peninsula . according to news reports, its the most damaging volcanic eruption la puma has seen since records started being recorded. so far, only one person has died. I cannot imagine the loss that family is feeling right now, all of prayers go out tp them and the other people affected.
- Jordan
