Identify your selected Lesson Plan and Result Report level: For this portfolio I will be utilizing the high school lesson plan and report.

In what ways did the selected Mindsets and/or Behaviors match the lesson topic? The selected behaviors matched the lesson because it allows students to define terminology and describe coping strategies for the specific activity.

List one additional Mindsets and/or Behaviors that you would have selected for the lesson and why. I would have completed a pre-test, as it will allow me to see what information students already know on the topic.

In what ways do the ASCA Student Standards Pre- and Post-Assessment Items align and not align with the Mindsets and/or Behaviors and topic? I feel that the items align with the The ASCA student standards. The Pre-test/Post Assessment is a survey that allows students to answer questions specifically how they feel.

Did the lesson content/materials match the selected Mindsets and/or Behaviors skill? Why or why not? The materials matched the Mindsets. It contained the materials that they would need to complete the terms, and provided technology that the teacher can use as well.

Timing can be important for delivering lessons and holding small group sessions. Yet, timing can also be limited for school counselors when it comes to working with students. Based on your opinion, how do you think that timing may have impacted the results of the lesson? I feel that the timing would impact the results, as it is only 30 minutes in time, and students can feel rushed receiving and the teachers could be rushed delivering the lesson.

School counselors often share lesson plans amongst each other when they might experience similar student challenges or topics. But schools, populations, cultures, developmental levels, and school counselors are unique. What are some ways you would modify the lesson plan to align with your creativity, knowledge of the ASCA National Model, and skillset? I would keep the same alignments, but increase the length of time of completion. I would maybe have a two day lesson where I can provide exit tickets to check for students learning and understanding.
