I've realized that really I'm just really bad at focusing on doing my homework and the slightest distraction can cause me to lose like half an hour at a time. Though, I've been trying to manage my time better so that I don't just throw away the couple of years I have left as a child, I wanna do something with my life other than wake up, school, homework until 11 pm, and then sleep. Thankfully, recently I've gotten just ever so slightly better at managing my time and I've had time to do just a bit more like drawing, exercising, or playing video games like Smash Bros. so I can hopefully enter some tournaments before I'm out of high school. It's still a work in progress since there can still be days where I only get to do one of the things I listed, and sometimes none at all. One tip I learned literally 2 days ago on how to work better is to put a timer for 25 or so mins, and work during that time, and then after that one rings, set one for 5 mins as a break. This way, if I want to do something that I know will distract I know specifically when I can do it, and focus on my work a lot more. I think it's similar to being at school, because there, it's not like I can just start watching youtube or stare into a wall. I think the school environment motivates me to do work because that's kind of the intended purpose of being there, I feel like it's a challenge of how much I can do before I get home, and in a way that motivates me to get work done faster. Not sure if it was the best explanation, but I guess setting the timer kind of reminds me of the school environment; having a dedicated time to do something. 25 mins is also a good time because I can usually do around half an assignment or maybe even whole one depending on how big it is and how much didn't do during schooltime. Why waste your time on something that isn't gonna help you in the near future. The only thing you really need to learn is to read and write. I also hate that the U.S. has to have a paper that says that you are smart. Why does a stupid useless paper have to determine if I'm smart or not, why can't I just prove everybody that I'm smart. I also hate that assignments always have to have a limit till it's due, I kinda find that stupid. I also find stupid that the teacher don't push their students to do their assignment. I feel like the best way to get the assignments done is to prize the student. For example, let's say Jimmy is missing an assignment, if you tell the student "I'll give you candy if you finish your missing work" that makes the child want to do the work because now they have a goal to actually do something. Without having a goal to actually do the assignments is pointless, we would have no reason to do the work if there is no goal. I feel like in high school, they should have classes for what you wanna be when you grow up. The only classes that would be acceptable is math, science, and language arts for reading and writing. History isn't even that important, we have the internet for a reason. I also hate how parents are these days, they are so disrespectful to their children and so rude. I have a friend that her mom hates her and just hits her for no reason and takes everything from her and yells at her and blames her for everything for no reason. Her dad is just mentally abusive towards her. I feel bad for her because she doesn't deserve it, she is a nice person. She is emotionless and numb because of her parents. This isn't fair. Parents need to stop hurting their children to just get their stresses and angers out. If they didn't want children, they should have not did the dirty. Some people are horrible, they are so disrespectful and stupid.
