In my experience, engaging and exploring the various forms of visual art has been enjoyable and a hobby I participated in throughout childhood and my teenage years. It has only been recently I have began to reconnect with this element of creative arts.
In accordance with the 'Knowledge and Processes of the Arts' table, I most identify with the 'conceptualising' category as I have a sound understanding of how I can manipulate certain materials to display a desired outcome (Ryan & Healy, 2008).

I have included some art samples that I have created over the years. This displays my understanding and exploration of different mediums such as watercolour, charcoal and clay.

Experiencing Music

I am an avid consumer of music. I engage with this element of the creative arts through streaming services such as Spotify, listening to old records and attending concerts and festivals. I have included images from various festivals that encompass my experiences relating to music. My inability to play an instrument or read music means I am at the 'experincing' stage of the 'Processes of the Arts' table (Ryan & Healy, 2008).

In addition to this, my work as an early childhood educator has taught me basic knowledge in regards to music as we develop their 'compositional skills' through games such as 'tapping sticks' which involves 'repetition and silence' (Hallam, 2012 p.76). This activity is represented in the video linked below, which is frequently followed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vguj9-bwx4o

I have very elementary experiences with 'drama; first hand, as personally I am very introverted so performing has never been an interest. Therefore I would consider myself to be 'experiencing' this form of creative arts, as Ryan and Healy's table suggests (2008)

I am aware of 'drama' being present in our everyday lives through my consumption of movies, television and the occasional performance (Ryan & Healy, 2008).

However it is in my experience as an early childhood educator that i have an appreciation for drama as a creative process (Goldstein & Levy, 2017) Storytelling to young children involves a level of acting, as characters need to be acted out appropriately to make sense to the audience (or in this case, children). (Goldstein & Levy, 2017)
Below is an image of a book that I have read which required a level of 'drama' through voice manipulation to engage the audience.

I have very limited experience with Dance, therefore it can be assumed a barely resonate with the 'experiencing' category of the 'Knowledge and Processes of the Arts' table (Ryan & Healy, 2008).

My experiences as an educator have allowed me to experience dance from the perspective of children. We often mimic dances on youtube from the 'Just Dance' game. I have also observed dance as a form of play in younger children as they "transform everyday
movement of their bodies into dance movement" Ryan & Healy, 2008 p.87).

As 'Just Dance' is popular at my workplace, I purchased a copy to entertain when children in my family come to visit. Due to their privacy wishes I cannot share content involving the children, however here is an image of the 'dances' that are provided to engage with.

Digital media such as photography is an area I have some experience in, and currently trying to improve on through online courses and tutorials. Whilst photography has been a passion of mine, supported through social media platforms such as Instagram, I lack the specific metalanguage and understanding of particular methods to reach a desired outcome to consider myself 'conceptualising' this art form (Ryan & Healy, 2008). I often feel my best photos are based on luck and not skill or deliberation.

The photo below was taken many years ago. My great uncle was a photographer and was teaching me the 'basics'.
