The proxy wars in Southeast Asia were a very important part of the Cold War and the fight against capitalism and communism. This caused five wars in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam over four decades. One of the most known battles of the reign was the Vietnam War. American soldiers were sent to Vietnam to stop the spread of communism but failed to do so, leading to Vietnam uniting under communism.
