Oxygen: There was a lot of oxygen in the atmosphere during this period. This was also the first time there was a drop in the amount of oxygen-depleting bacteria in the oceans, so they were able to hold more oxygen.
Climate: In this period, the climate started off colder, but as the glaciers continued to melt it became warmer.
Environments: Ocean environments, some were shallow
Plants: Green algae and blue algae were present.
Other life: No life existed on land yet, all life was aquatic. Trilobites were common, coral reefs, large predator called Anamalocaris, Arthropods
Notable Events: Mass extinction occurred at the end of this period
Something Interesting: The oldest example of a parasite comes from this time period
