         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Missouri compromise was a compromise that decided all states above a line would be free states, and all below slave states.<br><br>This lead to civil war, because it only solved the problem temporary. As soon as the U.S.A. expanded more, the rule no longer applied to new states, continuing the argument between north and south of what should and shouldn't be a slave state.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Kansas-Nebraska act allowed for people to vote on whether it would be a slave state or free state.<br><br>This lead to civil war, because of the amount of violence that this caused in Kansas. it was separated into two states, Kansas and Nebraska. people rushed to either side, either to support or oppose slavery, and two governments were set up. There was a lot of violence between the two, leading up to the civil war.</div>]]></description>
