I flied to London this September then it took me one hour to arrive in Brighton.I  made a new friend who came from Hong Kong in the airport then we took the same taxi to the Bellerbys College.Brighton is a coastal city so I sometimes see the sea gulls walking on the street.Before I came to Brighton,one of my friend who ever travelled to Brighton told me that the seafood in there are very tasty so I decide to go to a seafood restaurant with my friends this weekend.

As for what I want to study in university,I haven't decided yet.But I will search some information about this.Also,I don't know what I want to do in the future when I graduate.Maybe work in a business company or something else.

In my country,most of the students are under high pressure because they need to compete with other students and the school will publish the rankings of each students of every large-scale examination ,so I think that's why I come to England to study.In senior high school,students have to get up at 6 o'clock and go to bed at around 11 o'clock.They just got half day to relax per week except holidays.There are approximately 70 students in a classroom.As a result,teachers will not take the feelings of each students into account.They have to study 6 subjects in high school which make them lose the motivation of study.

In this first term,our study focus on business language and business maths.They are very basic for business studies. I found that business is an interesting subject because it is related to real life rather than abstract subject.

Currently I think business maths is very easy for me because I have already learned Core1,Core2 and Decision1 maths.I should work hard on my English and find out more about business studies at the same time.

Frankly speaking,I do not really know what exactly I should to do,I feel confused about it because I never study business before.As a result,it is a little difficult for me to learn it well.But my friends told me that when study this course,I should understand all of the definitions and memorize them then put them into practice.In the meantime,I need to improve my English skills so that I can have a better understanding of this course.I need to consult how to learn business with the teacher.

I do not enjoy the language itself.I enjoy what the language allows me to do,which is connecting with other people.Not knowing English would home me back from meeting new friends,studying in an international environment,reading a lot of great books that are not translated into my mother tongue.However,I do enjoy those moments when I use a new phrase or a word in a conversation.Every time I do so,some new possibilities open up in front of me.

Grammer and new words are the most difficult part for me.That's the reason why I still cannot make some complex sentences or I tend to make more mistakes when I try to write some difficult sentences.It is hard for me to paraphrase some sentences.

I need to ask for teachers the best way to improve my writting skills and try my best to cope with my problems.

 

Now I learned some computer skills such as how to use data sort to make charts more tidy and so on.Sometimes it is a little be tricky for me but with the help of classmates and CIT teacher,I find that this subject is interesting and I become interested in it.

I think that due to my English still need to improve so sometimes I can not understand what is the instruction is talking about which made me don't know how to operate.

There are more knowledge that I should learn and practice.I reckon that I need to follow the teacher's instructions to improve my skills.

From my point of view,I think the biggest difference between Business Language and FES Extended Course is their focus.The business English course focuses on teach us business communication skills while FES Extended Course aims at teach us how to enhance our ability of learning English.In business English classes,we are more likely to have conversations with our partner within a group.Teacher taught us how to talk to our business partner politely,how to express our thoughts and so on.By contrast,in FES classes,teacher tend to teach us English skills in a more academic way which includes listening,reading,writing and speaking.Teacher gives us some details about how to enhance our skills specifically.

In this term,I have learned many things at school.My classmates are all from different countries and regions.I learned a lot from them.For example,I know about some cultures and laws in their countries now.Teachers give me a number of knowledge.As for me,I found that there will always be people there to support I get into trouble.Friends,classmates and teachers are all kind to me so wherever I am,they can always help me.We all experience our brief moments of panic,but we make it out alive.I always try my best to push myself to make the most of what college offers.I joined singing club,go to the party,etc.In addition,I ate lunch myself at school for the first time.I may think that when I eat lunch alone,everyone is staring and thinking that I have no friends.But now I think it is not embarrassing at all.

As an International student,there are many things that I need to overcome.First of all,it is not easy process to get good accommodation in an unfamiliar condition.At first,I lived in a lively house but because of the two naughty boys,I can't stand the noise made by them.Then I moved to a school staff's house.They are very nice to me and I enjoy live with them.Then the main difficulty that I am overcoming now is the language problem.I always lose my confidence easily because the native language between Chinese and English have totally different background and logic.The general trouble is hard to communicate with classmates and teachers.I can understand what they are saying but I have no idea to express my thoughts and feelings,which makes me more silent and reticent.Besides,there are lots of unfamiliar vocabularies in a long article which made me feel bored.Then I asked for suggestion from FES teacher,Mr.Turner.He advised me to watch English movies and videos more often and read newspapers as much as possible.Then I began to read newspaper when I take a bus to school or come back home and listened to the BBC radio every morning.Now I find it easier to communicate with teachers and classmates.The only thing I still need to overcome is confidence.I should boost my confidence to speak to others.Plus,culture.China has a very long history so many cultures have been existed in thousands years which are being carved in every Chinese heart so I need more time to adapt the totally different environment.

Before I study this course,I think that learning English is just work hard and practice more.But now I think that communication is a very important thing for English learners.We can not only practice our spoken-English,but also gain some knowledge of foreign cultures.

I made some Chinese friends from different regions and we sometimes hang out together.They helped me a lot of living and studies.By the way, I never think that I can make any foreign friends at school.But now I can get along well with my classmates and I even made some friends in singing club.

The Great Gatsby is an American classic and a wonderful work. This is my least-favorite classic of all time. I was never fully introduced to the root of the affair that existed between Gatsby and Daisy.  A tale full of love, loss, regret, fear, and just plain craziness. In short it has all of the emotions of real life all rolled up into one little tale about a man! It’s the telling of this man’s life story from a friend’s perspective and it was so unique, and written so well that I really did not want to put this down. 

I learned only recently that Charlotte Bronte is a masterful writer. I cannot say that this was an easy book to read. But it was a book that I was very enriched by reading. It's a story for the person who wonders why they keep trying to do the right thing, and persevering in life, instead of just taking what they want when they want it.Jane walked away from the thing she wanted most in the world. She almost died doing what she felt in her heart was right.
