When dealing with someone with depression you can help them in various ways. For example, you can urge them to go into treatment, let them know you will listen if they want to talk, and keep a positive attitude. If it is caused by stress, you can try and help with the stress. For example, if their stress is triggered by work, you can offer them as a friend a space for them to be able to vent about their boss. You can also try to urge your friend to take self care steps and start focusing more on their mental health.

The depression program is a seven week program. It can still be extended after the initial treatment. All the same, the program has a set day schedule that rarely changes. Patients wake up, eat a meal, then set a day plan and take a class of self reflection on their addiction. In the afternoon they have a therapy appointment and then they are allowed to go into the park on campus to play sports and get moving.
