Aurelia can sometimes come across as rude but that is only because she prefers to work alone and avoid confrontation. She does her best to appear friendly in public and earn the right opinions from people. She lives alone with her father, Vortigern, and she despises him because of an event when Aurelia was 12 that killed her mother. Vortigern tricked Aurelia into setting up a situation that made her mother look bad publicly. As a result the royal family (the Sarks) ordered her execution. Aurelia is greatly bothered by this. She can barley sleep at night and her mother's voice is in her head.
