Thirteen year old Lizeth Villanueva came home with an "award" that was granted by her teacher titles "most likely to become a terrorist". But Lizeth wasn't the only one who came home with the bashing award. Some students had awards like "most likely to become homeless in Guatemala". Clearly, it seems that the teacher does not show respect to the students and is blind to the idea that labeling children is not okay. Students deserve respect from their teachers and the teacher has the responsibility to teach a student proper education. Like the words of the month in October and September, Respect and Responsibility go both ways for students and teachers. Being a teacher is one of the most important jobs in the world, and for a teacher to abuse the power of being "in charge", is completely ignorant and irresponsible.

This is an incredibly sad and unfortunate event. It is NEVER ok to joke about terrorism especially in such a stressful time. This teacher may be good at conveying knowledge, but her humor is not appropriate.
Rajan: It's unjust to give such an award to someone.
Amaya: It's embarrassing for the student.
Alexis: The teacher should have never said such hurtful things.
Christina: The student is likely traumatized.
Aniyah: The teacher was dumb if she thought she could get away with this inappropriate joke.
Dashiell: The teacher should never had said those things. The fact that she is very credible does not change the fact that what the teacher said is highly inappropriate.

It is the end of the school year, and there are mock awards getting passed out in a junior high school in Channelview, and one of them was most likely to be a terrorist. this award sparked a lot of media outrage, since it was meant as a joke. However, it is quite obvious this is never something to joke about. This is even more surprising since this teacher was very credible.
