It's surreal knowing that 2 years just whizzed by like this! The variety of postings in the HMAP has helped me greatly in knowing what kind of leader I aspire to be in the future. I got to meet so many role models along the way, from witnessing the TTSH Chief Nurse making swift decisions during the COVID-19 cluster in TTSH, to the YH COO's deep passion in developing the leaders of the future; these leaders constantly reignite my passion for healthcare and inspire me to do more for our nation. Graduating from this programme definitely isn't the end, but the beginning of so much to come - so stay tuned!

My 2 years into the healthcare journey have repeatedly reminded me that no great things can be done alone. I am most proud of all the cross-disciplinary colleagues who I have worked with, for giving our ideas and suggestions a chance to be explored or improvised. This is only possible because we are aligned in our hopes to deliver the best care experience we can to our patients. The future of healthcare not only requires advanced technology, and improvised waste-free workflow, but a workforce that enables individuals with a compassionate heart to keep going on.

I have always wanted to be in the healthcare industry and HMAP programme has given me an opportunity to improve the quality of life for others through healthcare. I have heard from my grandfather, a TTSH patient since his 50’s, how he had observed improvements in the hospital’s workflow throughout the years which brought him great convenience during his visits. I aspire to be part of TTSH’s strive for continuous improvement and hope to learn more about the “behind the scenes” of healthcare in the next 2 years :)
