I had gotten inspiration for this piece by many cool artists online, and I found many good artworks on pinterest! When I make my art pieces,  I like it to be simple and not too complicated. The reasons these subjects matter for me and the reason as to why I chose these two topics is because I wanted to do kind of a darker side of them like shattered communities and then also do like broken relationships. My message through my piece was saying on one side sometimes even though the world around you can be happy sometimes you're still just upset and sad inside and on the other side it's the opposite like sometimes your community and everything can be broken and dark but you can carry on and become a better version of yourself and simply just more forward. Making this piece was quite a journey. First I hydro dipped the background black by using spray paint in water and dipping a canvas inside, next I did the watercolor world and searched for words to go inside the locations on the globe. Then I wanted to push myself and extend my limits so I did the other half! First I learned a cool new technique called ink dipping where you put little ink droplets in water similar to hydro dipping but it makes more of a water color a more liquifyed light vibe. So I did that and then I used acrylic paint and did the world, next I found words and cut and glued them from a magazine onto my work. Finally I chose a beautiful quote that I thought really resembled this piece and I wrote it around the two worlds connecting them. In my artwork I was trying to express overcoming negative emotions through my piece and it kind of resemble personal issues I have had in the past so I wanted to do a piece about how I felt and how i feel now like the light background was me before when i felt as if everyone around me was super happy but inside i was going through a really hard time and then the dark background with the light world was kind of resembling men overcoming those rough patches and moving forward. My goal through making this piece was to push myself and try some new thing which I think I definitely did because I extended my thinking and tried new things and learned alot from it too! In conclusion, I learned alot from making this piece. For example, new techniques like hydro dipping and ink dieing and even just learning to extend myself and push my limits. My final piece is even better than I imagined. I was inspired by TIME"s magazine covers and decided to design my own and step out of my comfort zone by trying out photography instead of creating a drawing or painting. The picture represents how young children are impacted by this virus. They are the ones struggling the most, without social interaction with their teachers and peers it's challenging for them to learn and stay entertained at home. In my personal experience, I started noticing Aaron was getting tired of going through the same routine everyday and was struggling to learn online, which is why social distancing has a negative impact on young minds. I created this by having a mini photoshoot with Aaron, editing it black and white and then use the app BeFunky the photoshop the template and words on. Artist statement: My art piece "Beyond the Horizon" shows a boy kayaking down a lake alone and surrounded by nature. This art piece shows what it's like for me to be calm and isolated with my own thoughts. I think what makes this a unique piece is that it is a digital illustration. I did this piece during online school and recently I have been exploring different types of digital artwork instead of using standard art mediums. Digital illustration is also a great medium to use when you are at home and don't have all the supplies that you would normally have in art class. The title for my artwork is 5 years later. I named this piece 5 years later because I am 14 right now and 5 years later, Canada is hosting the next Fifa World Cup. Therefore the Canadian team is automatically qualified. Also 5 years later, I will be 19 which I have a chance to make the national team and play in the world cup. My goal is to express my feelings, my passion, my love for the game. How it would influence me in the future is to see if I have achieved my goal. I will put this on my wall and it will remind me everyday to work harder. Some elements that I tried to grasp are the grass getting lighter and lighter. This is because it has an effect of showing distance and less 2 dimensional.

The blue flowers being opposite colours really stand out and it becomes the main focus. For this art piece I used watercolour paint, watercolour pencils, prisma colour pencils, pencils(HB), fine liner. I started off with making the sunflowers with fine liner, after that I would colour the petals in with watercolour and prisma colour pencils, then I would colour the grass with watercolour paint, after that I would colour the stems and leafs with watercolour pencils, I would then start my sunset starting with the orange then the yellow then the blue. The blue sunflowers are meant to be different and odd compared to the normal sunflower but is still allowed to be in the field, you should take this into your own life and be who you want to be, not who someone else wants you to be.
