1. Were the objectives of the project fulfilled?

The main objective of this project was to have a more nuanced perspective when reading literary texts. Prior to this course, I was already reading a lot of classics and contemporary fiction but I lacked the contextual knowledge surrounding the books or poems. So, I wasn't fully aware of the biographies of the authors, the socio-political landscape that occurred when the work was being written and even the local and international implications of the work. And this was something that I really wanted to work on to transform my reading experience. Simply put, I tried to learn how to read.

I think I have achieved this objective because now I have significantly more knowledge on literature compared to my starting point. I think I have trained my mind to be more critical of the media that I consume because I am now more aware of how I am being influenced. Now, I strive to consume media consciously.

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

I liked the reading portion of the project -- and it required a lot of it. My reading speed has become noticeably faster. I have also enjoyed reading texts from around the world -- texts that I would not have picked up otherwise. Learning to view the works of literature from the vantage point of the author was also refreshing and mind opening.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

The volume of labour needed was more than I had expected. The course load itself was already a lot but the supplemental readings took most of the time. Next time, I would choose a course with a lighter workload so I can focus on enjoying reading literature.

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

I think the video production portion of the project was done smoothly. It was a newly acquired skill and I believe to be a valuable one. I am now more equipped in video planning and editing for future tasks. 

5. What can be improved in this project?

The tasks could have been explained in detail during the beginning of the posting.

2. To advocate readers on some of the human rights violation that is currently happening (✓)

I am feeling more confident to write an article. My sentence structure is improving, and I learned many new vocabularies. 

I successfully wrote an article on human rights and published it on my website! I touched on the universality of human rights. I argued how some of the components of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) declared by United Nations do not align with our country's values.

Moreover, I enhanced my way of researching for a topic. I evaluated many journal articles, newspaper articles, and books to find the most reliable and trustworthy source as a supporting argument.

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

I genuinely appreciate how the course is easy to comprehend, packed with helpful course materials, and flexible study time. I enjoyed learning how to organize my thoughts before transcribing it into comprehensible words. I can feel my confidence in writing improving at the end of the course!

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

The final output is very challenging to me as a new writer.  It was a 180 degree change as I am adapting to a foreign writing approach. The entire process of researching a heavy topic, reviewing journals and articles, drafting the article took me a whopping one week to complete. I wrote a total of four drafts, weaved with multiple revisions to produce a final 1000 words article. I am so glad I took this course and I am thrilled to show you my final article that I linked above.

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well?

I am elated and proud of myself that I am able to complete the final essay. It was very tough as English is not my final language. Moreover, I am having difficulty to organize my thought process. Most of the time, I find myself unable to express my thoughts in words. However, with guidelines and a few practices, I am able to spark an idea in my mind and work it up into sentences. These sentences will build a paragraph, and a few paragraphs will build an essay. I believe in starting small, and may this small steps of mine inspires me to continue writing in the future!

5. What can be improved in this project?

I lack in discipline and time management which results in a delay of completing the course in time. I should integrate self-discipline and timeliness to avoid procrastination.  A study timetable would be helpful to keep me on track with my progress. Other than that, I am content with the course materials and time frame given to complete the elective posting. 

Yes. I believe my objectives have been fulfilled whereby I have successfully learned a new musical skill. Besides, I had learnt to manage my time well in order to practice the skill. Then, I had also achieved good stress management by playing a musical instrument, violin which can make us feel calmful. 

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

I enjoyed learning a new musical instrument. I felt very grateful that my teacher is a very friendly person. She was always patient with me when I had difficulty in learning the violin. Besides, I can practice the skill during my free time especially during this pandemic as we were spending most of our time at home.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do).

I feel quite challenged to learn a new musical instrument via an online platform. This is because sometimes I will face a poor internet connection which will cause the delay of the class. Besides, it is quite hard for my teacher to show me the way of holding the violin and some skill to press the strings. However, I am grateful that my teacher introduced me to an application called “Soundcorset”. This application is very useful for me to adjust the tuner of the violin. Hence, I am able to produce the correct tones when playing the violin.

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

I had learn to manage my time well in order to practice this new skill. Besides, I felt that playing the violin can really make me relax, calm down and center myself  especially when I am stressed. Hence, I had learned to discipline my mind and control my emotions through this project. 

5. What can be improved in this project?

I can learn the violin better if there was a physical class for me. As I will not have to face internet problems during the online class which might cause some delay. However, I do understand that due to this pandemic, it is safer for us to follow the rules and reduce contact with others. 

Yes. All the objectives of this project fulfilled successfully. 

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

What I liked the most about the project is the final result which is I enable to play a song using keyboard. I do not expect that I can play another music instrument eventhough before this I joined a lot of music competitions during primary school and high school then I stopped playing those music instruments. Maybe there is music touch in me. 

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

What I found challenging about this project is when I need to play in normal tempo. Because playing keyboard with both hands and normal tempo is a little bit challenging to me. Reading chords while playing at the first time is a little bit hard but as the time goes by, I enable to play while read the chords

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

my both hands can play the keyboard gracefully, I guess. Thank you for my online teacher from Pianote.

5. What can be improved in this project?

This project can be more fun if it in face-to-face method. A real teacher that can teach directly without any boundaries. And the process of learning can be more interesting because it is 2 ways learning. The feeling when learning via online and face-to-face is very different. When learning through online, u cannot evaluate yourself and u think that along the process u did a great job. 

All the objectives are fulfilled. I managed to produce several artworks as intended. I also finished the course and obtained the certificate. As I evaluated myself, I have gained artistic and drawing skills as part of the project, though it is definitely not perfect. On the other hand, my soft skills such as critical thinking, resilience and self-confidence also improved as I managed to get through a whole ne experience learning art for the first time.

The process creating art from planning to the final shading stroke is fun and exciting. Each step has its own practice skills needed to perfect the process, and the practicing will never drain you if you can keep your interest up to see the end product. Different kind of drawings has its own challenges, and it was never boring to overcome the caveats of each drawing. Finally, the satisfaction of seeing the completed product is unbeatable.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

The most challenging part is trying to start the sketch with the correct precision with the reference picture or your own idea. Sometime, the drafting sketch was just out of balance as the ratio is off. Most art tutorial provide bones of the drawing so you can measure the drawings accurately. However, some lecture or tutorial directly draw the character and the measurement is done by their experience and muscle memory. Anyway, I get the grasp of it after practicing several drawings.

I the part of the project that went really well is I manage to decently produce each drawing of each section decently. I agree my sketch is not perfect, but in the initial some of the drawings seem too hard for me to achieve. After trying and focusing on the principle taught I the lecture, I managed to produce a decent end product for showcase. For that, I am proud of myself, but I should never stop practicing.

Maybe, I can try to showcase the process of sketching step-by-step. Though I find it tedious, it may showcase my progress more clearly and give my friends the idea of how it works. Other than that, Even though I tried different kind of drawings already, I should widen my experience by incorporating more varieties of drawing, maybe increase more in drawing human figures and animations. Finally, I can maybe start moving on to art using colours such as digital arts or watercolours. Colours give other perspectives to the art, and the theory of colours is whole lot another chapter than my current project.
