The benefits of doing our IDU on English and science is that it will make our pitch stronger. In this case it happened because our pitch needed to be about a Clean and affordable energy, that’s when science helped out. We needed to know information on our energy source so that we could have more evidence. So science will help by teaching us how the energy transformation works etc. English will help with its persuasion techniques. Using persuasion techniques will make the investor more interested in the innovation. (english perspective ) If we were to do it separately our pitch would have been very simple making it very vague, there wouldn't be much information and facts about our innovation. (science perspective) If it was don't separately our pitch would not have been persuasive and interesting but it would have a lot of information making it difficult for the investors to be engaged and understand our pitch. So that is why both science and English were combined rather than doing them both separately. 

There isn't much we can talk about using both subjects. For doing the IDU in a science perspective we're only focusing on the type of energy our innovation uses rather than focusing on all the different energy sources which means we only have a limited amount of knowledge on the sources of energy. From an English perspective, the only that we were focusing on is being persuasive to the investors which becomes a limitation because being persuasive becomes the only thing we worry about in an English perspective. It becomes challenging for us because we have to constantly think of being both scientifically correct and being good at persuasion for English. 

it helps to connect 2 different subjects in many ways. 
- We only had to give 1 summative assessment instead of 2 separate ones. 
- If we combine the knowledge we get from both, our pitch is stronger. 
- it improved our confidence, communication skills and we could improve on the way we research 
-  we were able to gain deeper knowledge about the energy source that we chose 
- combining the two subjects made it a bit more interesting to present 
- we were able to come up with more ideas and solutions to tackle the problems related to using that idea

Both language and science can be used together to persuade for sustainable development by, science can be used to talk about how the innovation works and persuade people about conserving the environment. Language can be used to persuade people using persuasive words for sustainable development. In other words, science will provide the evidence that can be used to persuade the audience towards sustainable development using persuasive language and persuasive communicative techniques. 

The benefits of doing an interdisciplinary unit for “Energy for all” is: 

·       We got to learn about sustainable development and how to use persuasion to persuade audiences about the type of energy that we used for our innovation. 

·      Learning English language and science as interdisciplinary units is more effective than in isolation. In English language, we have learned about persuasion and how to use persuasive language to get something done. And in science, we have learned about energy, sustainable development, and how to innovate. Separately they are informative but when taught as interdisciplinary units, we can understand the real-life use of the skills and knowledge that we had learned separately. We have now learned how to persuade people about a scientific innovation for the sustainable development of the environment. 

·      Learning as an IDU is more fun as we can relate different ideas and use different techniques to come up with better solutions to solve real-world problems. 

I faced one challenge while doing this unit as an IDU, compared to doing separate science and English units. I have previously learned how to use persuasion using different persuasive words and phrases in English. I have also learned how to come up with scientific ideas and innovations to overcome a problem. Each discipline uses distinct terminologies to explain in their own way. When mixing the two disciplines, I found it a bit challenging when deciding which term to use to explain certain aspects of my work. Deciding whether to use an English term that anyone can understand or a scientific term that needs explanation but defines an aspect in a better manner was the only challenge that I had faced. 

2. If we only studied science we will only look at the different transformations and how we use energy in our daily life and for English, we would learn persuasive language and do normal pitch presentation but after adding both units we can explore more in the different units my explain our knowledge for this problem then for English we discovered that not only we use energy there is renewable sources and non renewable sources for English we have a better understanding of this topic now discovered real-life problems which made us depth on thinking more on energy for all by using scienctific knowlwedge.
3. we can use both of the knowledge to find problems and try to use more subject to expand and have a perspective in all of the different unit as for science we found more information in science and how we can use it in English to persuade other to this topic. there are the benefits which will increase our knowledge of these 2 subject. we improved our communication skills by using language

We can  use science for getting to know about the different energy sources, collecting accurate evidences (percentages) and explaining how the innovation works (by telling about the energy transformations). 

We can use language for phrasing the text correctly using different persuasion techniques (pathos, ethos and logos) so that we can effectively communicate with the audience and persuade them.

2nd-We were learning about renewable energy in science  and now in our pitches we can use that in our story or anywhere in our pitch even in statements because it makes our sentences sound more scientific

3rd It is good experience for us and it will help us in the future because when we go to universities or later on in our life.

4th we learned how to take risks because it is really hard to say present your product in front of so many people 

In language there are three skills that we can use to persuade our investors, these skills are Ethos, Logos and Pathos. Ethos is building trust between you and your audience, Pathos is creating emotion example telling a personal story and Logos is logic which includes informations , statistics and facts. Science is also needed to persuade the audience by giving them an explanation  behind the science of the product or the logic behind it. We can provide evidence to our audience about our innovation through the help of  science. We can also explain them how the product functions and we can teach them about our innovation , we are going to be able to do this with help of science. If we apply both language and science in in our presentation while persuading the audience I am sure that this will increase the chance for them to invest in our  product.
