1. Saloma. It is because she has a hard time explaining her mental illness to the people around her. In the text, "No, real! they talk to me" and "Real, I not bluffing" suggests that the people she tries to explain her illness to brushes it off as it not being real.
2. Stable as Saloma and Vinod are comfortable around one another and they are not afraid to share their problems with each other. In the text, "Can I call you afterwards?" and Saloma saying yes even if she wanted to say no. This shows that they are comfortable with sharing their information with one another having just met each other.

1. saloma because she has to deal with people pointing out that the voices are not real and that makes her feel like she's being looked down on.The evidence shown on page 16 when Saloma says '..You never hear before..Why you never listen to me ?..I never gila-gila talk to myself..' this shows that Saloma is keen to tell Vinod that the voices are real and that she is not crazy and talking to herself. In conclusion, I feel sorry for Saloma more towards Vinod as Saloma has to constantly assure people she is not crazy and talking to nobody but she talks to the voices and feels the need to explain to people that the voices are real and are not her imagination.

She has to deal with her mental illness and the fact that her mother is in denial, and it seems like Vinod is giving her more to deal with as he is not listening to her. She barely has anyone to talk to as her mother doesn't believe in her illness. Turning to Vinod doesn't really help either as he says the "so-called voices" are figments of her imagination. Hence, I feel more sorry for Saloma due to all the weight she is carrying on her shoulders.

2) I would describe their relationship as co-dependent. Saloma and Vinod depend on each other a lot without realizing it. While Vinod is left alone with his thoughts, he thinks of Saloma and calls her so as to not be so lonely. Saloma, on the other hand, sees Vinod as her confidant. She tells Vinod about the voices she hears and tries to explain to him how she feels. Even though he doesn't really believe her, she continues to talk and confide in him. Therefore, I would describe Saloma and Vinod's relationship as co-dependent.

i feel sorry for vnod as he has this defensive wall to him that makes me him believes he has no mental illness and cares about saloma . he tell her that she 'can call him even if its 3/4am' . No one is usually awake at that timing unless faced with problems which in vinods case is his feelings and thoughts and when confronted by saloma asking who he is ' talking to ' he lashes out at her and says her mental illness and the voices she hears are invalid . therefore i feel more sympathetic towards vinod as he has this layer of attitude that makes him feel better bout himself,

1) I feel more sorry for Saloma as she fails to differentiate real and imaginary voices.I feel that she also is hurt by Vinod's insensitive attitude of insisting that the voices she hears are fake eventhough he knows that saloma has schizophrenia. This can be seen when Vinod says,"You see Saloma, the voices are not real. It's just an imaginary-."Therefore I feel more sympathetic towards Saloma as she feels she is not listened to by Vinod
2)I feel that their relationship is close as they need one another for support. As Vinod has depression, being able to have Saloma to talk and share his problems with can help deal with his depression and with Saloma having schizophrenia,Vinod can help her to differentiate the imaginary and real voices. As they both suffer from mental illness they can relate with one another better.

1. I feel sorry for Saloma as she is constantly being pressured by the people around her. In the text, when she told Vinod that she used to talk to the voices, he denied and kept telling her it's not real. He mentions, "the voices are just figments of your imaginations" and they kept arguing if it was real or not. There are constantly two different opinions between Saloma and her company. She also mentions, "My mother say don't take, but I take" which shows the different perspectives about Saloma taking the medicine with her mother. Therefore, I sympathise Saloma more as she has to constantly go against the people around her.

2. The relationship between Saloma and Vinod is conflicted as they do not agree with one another.

1) I feel more sorry for Vinod. He can't seem to appreciate others, especially their opinion. He's too proud to admit that he is wrong, and he refuses to listen to Saloma. Vinod is so narrow minded, and he thinks that he is always right. He talks over Saloma and says that the voices she hears are just "figments of [her] imagination", instead of being open minded and trying to accept the fact that her schizophrenia is a real problem, not something that is made up
