Therefore I feel more sympathetic towards Saloma as she may never be able to make anyone believe in her.

2) I would describe their relationship as co-dependent. Saloma and Vinod depend on each other a lot without realizing it. While Vinod is left alone with his thoughts, he thinks of Saloma and calls her so as to not be so lonely. Saloma, on the other hand, sees Vinod as her confidant. She tells Vinod about the voices she hears and tries to explain to him how she feels. Even though he doesn't really believe her, she continues to talk and confide in him.
