Joglo house is a traditional house in Central Java which is usually built using teak wood. The Joglo house is unique because of its tajug-shaped roof, or a kind of conical pyramid roof. The word Joglo itself comes from the words "tajug" and "loro", shortened to juglo, which means combining two tajug. In its development, the term juglo became joglo.

History of the Joglo House
The joglo house is a symbol that shows the social status of the ancient Javanese people. Therefore, even though it was called a Javanese house in ancient times, not all Javanese could build it. People who can afford a joglo house are those with high social status and strong financial means. This is because the material used to build joglo houses is teak wood, which is very good quality and expensive.

Parts of the Joglo house

Joglo houses generally consist of three parts, namely the pendapa (front), pringgitan (middle), and dalem (main room). Each part of the Joglo house has a unique hierarchical principle or levels in the house structure. The principle is that the front of the house has general characteristics, while the back has special characteristics. Therefore, access to enter the back of the house is only given to certain people.

Apart from that, the Joglo house also has four pillars or pillars in the middle which are taller and are used to support the roof. The meaning of the pillars of the Joglo traditional house is a picture of the strength of the four winds. Therefore, the community believes that taking shelter in the Joglo house can save them when disaster strikes. While tajug for Javanese people is likened to the shape of a mountain.
