Rabozzo gets shot by one of the guards. This was a very sad part of this section, this truly shows how little empathy the guard has. Rabozzo was already sick and his loss greatly affected the rest of the group that was captured. Although this is a very emotional part of the book, if Rabozzo did not die, they wouldn't have a direct stressor to cause them to escape accurately.
