         <description><![CDATA[<div>My partners most memorable lesson was when she was in 2nd or 3rd grade and her teacher incorporated the Ohlone Tribe into their lesson on Native Americans and their land. Ivette said that the teacher drew out what these people looked liked and what they did on a daily basis, but what was the best part of the lesson was that the land the school was on was Ohlone land.          <description><![CDATA[<div>My partners most engaging learning experience was on a field trip where they learned about the water cycle. During the field trip they learned about the different parts of the water cycle through acting it out. After that they were put into groups where they competed against each other in various games which was a lot of fun. They were given backpacks with coloring books, a t-shirt, and other items at the end to take home with them. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My partner came from Mexico so she does not remember much about elementary school in terms of lessons, but she does remember her ESL classes as being more comfortable and engaging for her. In other classes she would struggle to write down the words her teachers would say, but she would keep thinking, "I will get it this time" thanks to her ESL teacher. She remembers that the ESL teacher tried her hardest to make the class safe for her students because she understood how hard it was for the students.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My partner shared her experience of her 4th grade teacher, Mr. Pearsall. She noted that he was very energetic and kind and was able to bring out the energy of the class. Even shy kids felt comfortable to speak! He guided them on a class project to build a rocket and made something that was science and math related accessible to everyone. The teacher also treated everyone fairly. She mentioned that there was a classmate with Leukemia in her class and everyone treated them with respect and kindness, and just as any other classmate. This was her memorable class experience.</div>]]></description>

They were to read a book and identify which parts of the story was the beginning, middle, and end. After that, they are supposed to make a sandwich as an analogy and write them down. For example, the bread was the beginning and end of the story then the ham and cheese would be the middle. Other ingredients like lettuce and tomato would be the characters and setting from the story. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My interviewee had just come to the United States in the fourth grade and had teacher named Mrs. Beary who was extremely pleasant and motherly. She never made her feel inferior to anyone and was able to guide her during that year. She remembers that by the end of the year she was able to sing a song about the mission with the rest of the class at the end of the school year with the support of her teacher’s guidance. As she got older and more comfortable with English, she had several more teachers that helped her along the way that have inspired her to become a teacher. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 5th grade Brianna was in a Read 180 class which was established for children who were behind in reading.  In this class she had to write a book about our own life that included important memories and times.  This book included illustrations.  Her elementary school demographics was dominated by Hispanics so they titled their books “Mi Vida”. Once each student completed their book, the teacher sat down with them independently, reviewed their stories and helped them correct any grammar or structure errors.  ..... book ended up being 10-15 pages.  She daily’s she still has her book and remembers how her teacher took it to get binded and added a hard cover.  Her parents really enjoyed reading the story of her life.</div>]]></description>
