This is my final tessellation, I wanted my piece to represent my background and culture and during Chinese New Year we would hang up symbols that would mean various blessings, and I wanted to incorporate them to my art piece. On the idea of culture I also wanted to include religion into this piece, and coming from a Buddhist background I wanted to add temples because that is where I go to pray for blessings. I drew various symbols in each of the circles that resembled an emblem which was what I was going for. I had trouble finding a good pattern and I wanted to use up all the empty space which is what I need to improve on next time I try to make another tessellation. I wanted to first draw flowers and butterflies, but the way my pattern turned out, the idea wouldn't work out. Next time I would focus more on adding on negative space and trying to fill up the paper as my tessellation is not as clear as it should be.

For our second major project, we started learning how to apply 3 new drawing techniques that would help us later in the unit. Those 3 styles were grid, contour, and gesture. Throughout this unit, we used a website called posemaniacs which offered tons of different poses that we could choose from. I chose this kicking pose as I found this pose to be really cool to draw as my final piece.

I first use contour drawing to draw the outline of my pose without adding too much detail, then I moved on to gesture drawing slightly sketching where everything would go. As gesture drawing is more of a foundation so we know if our proportions were right. Now I needed to know where I would apply my grid drawings. I wanted to apply my grid drawings to the places that have the most detail so I could replicate it the best I can. The places I decided to do my grid drawing was near the abdominal, the arms, and the kicking leg. I figured these parts had the most detail and would be the hardest to draw. In order to add unity to this piece I went over my piece with pencil to add darker shades to places where it tended to show a darker value of color in the original image. I felt that this would bring out the piece further. Overall this unit was really enjoyable and I've felt that I was able to showcase my learning process and how much I've learned over this unit as this was the first time doing anything like this.

I am amazed on how well your project went. I can see how you utilized all the 3 drawing styles we learned throughout this unit.I also like how well you added add on details like for example with the basketball. I can tell where you used your grid drawings to add more details to places you think would need more of a in depth view. I also enjoy how well your gesture drawing went. Your proportions are also well spot on, everything looks the right size to me which I think is your strong strengths in this project. I can spot the clear muscles in your pose within the arms, leg, and body. Some of the elements of art that you've used that I think you did really well was your use of lines, form, value, and shapes. Your artwork has a clear outline of the body, the muscles are well drawn and sketched, and you've added a bit of shading to places in the muscle which I really enjoy because it brings out the depth of the art work. Overall I really really like how your final piece went and I couldn't find anything wrong with this piece.

I liked how your final art piece turned out. I can tell that you've clearly understood the 3 drawing styles we've been learning this unit. Your grid lines are clear and were able to help you zoom in on the details of the muscle. You have a clear outline of your pose and your gesture drawing was really nice. I can see clear outlines of the muscles in the leg, chest, etc. If I were to give some feedback, I would maybe add more details to the parts where you have the grid drawings as this doesn't look like a final piece so a bit of finalizing and adding shading would make this piece even better. You've also used lines form and shape really well because I can see you drew in the details of the muscle, and you have clear outlines on where things are supposed to go and your shaping is really nice. overall this piece turned out really nice and I think you've done a really good job.

I enjoy your art piece because I think that your tessellation is very clear and it gives a unique feeling with your art piece. However I think you could make your tessellation more neat with the coloring. I also enjoy seeing your pattern and how it potrays the apple decaying over time which I really liked and it was very unique. Your pattern was clear to see.

The designs are very cool and distinct within this art piece and I really enjoy the ninja star within your art. Your tessellation is also very clear and I can see the patterns formed with your art which I enjoyed I think you could color it next time as it would drastically improve the whole art piece, if you colored you could also add in values and shading which would make this art look so much better as it already is. I also liked how you utilized the space given in your art piece, the negative space within your art piece also showcase a unique and cool pattern that syncs in with the rest of your art.

This was my 3 point perspective, the process behind it was I got a picture of a tall city building in the night, as 3 point perspective means that there are 3 vanishing points it should seem like the top is smaller than it actually is which was my goal with this piece which I think I did really well. I applied shadow to show the illusion of depth and complexity.

Creating a two-point perspective drawing was a challenging yet rewarding experience. The placement of vanishing points and the alignment of converging lines brought depth and realism to the composition. It required attention to detail and patience to make surethe lines were accurate and parallel. The final result showcased the power of perspective in transforming a flat surface into a three-dimensional space. The process of creating a two-point perspective drawing allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of spatial relationships and how they can be visually represented.

Creating a one-point perspective drawing such a cool experience that deepened my understanding of spatial representation. The single vanishing point on the horizon line became the focal point, getting the viewer to focus on the vanishing point allows them to be immersed in the artwork. The converging lines extending from the vanishing point created a remarkable sense of depth and distance, transforming the flat surface into a three-dimensional space. It was fascinating to see how the careful placement of objects and structures in relation to the vanishing point enhanced the realism and visual impact of the composition. Working with one-point perspective challenged me to consider the balance between positive and negative spaces.

This is the first page to my imaginary city, it uses inspiration from the page, crossing mountain passes to get to the city, my partner and I thought this would be a good way to open the book and it would lead to the gate to the city. We used shading to try to represent the darker and lighter tones of the picture.

This is the third page to our imaginary city, it takes inspiration from the glass like aquariums, and a medusa shaped chandelier,, we also incorporated a big pediment at the very top of the page. We used one point perspective as we were thinking of doing a long hallway leading to the obverse side of the city.

This is the second page to our imaginary city, this page was dedicated to drawing the gate right after making it through the mountain pass, the phrase "alabaster gates" with it's coral columns supporting made us think of a cool design and the use of serpentine and snake like design on the columns and the medusa symbol in the middle of the gate. This gate would then lead to the big city with the villas, pediment, and aquarium themed city.

This is the fourth and last page of our booklet, we wanted this side of the city to be shown to be very old rusty and deadly with the spikes, rusted spikes and items, we wanted the place to represent the slums with the dirtiness. We also used atmospheric perspective to portray the amount of old buildings there are in this side of city with each layer getting lighter and lighter with the shading.

Value Drawing

This is final value drawing piece. I am happy with my progress throughout this unit and I feel good about my final piece. I think in most parts I managed to showcase the different shading techniques, I really enjoyed drawing the wood like texture, the most struggle I had was drawing the spoons because it was hard to add depth to it and make it look 3D. I also should've spent more time on the background as I feel like it was rushed and it doesn't blend as well as it should've. Next time I do this again I would take more time focusing on the spoons as I think thats the area that needs the most work.

Albrecht Dürer Piece

This is my final piece for the Albrecht Dürer "Adoration of Magi". I am really happy with the result of this piece. Throughout this project I felt that I was able to showcase my knowledge in the different techniques and new knowledge with the pens. I mainly focused on giving my piece a lot of texture and depth by using value. These factors made my piece look a lot more realistic and similar to the picture I chose. Some struggles I had throughout this was definitely the pen lining, because sometimes the ink would be inconsistent and sometimes I would use too much ink or too less and it was hard to control my pen when trying to shade the really big parts of my piece. If I were to do this again, I would definitely refine my pen work and lining because it could’ve looked way better with more time and effort put into it but I still think it turned out really well.

AI Illusion Final Piece

This is my final AI illusion piece. I am somewhat happy with my piece as this was probably the hardest unit for me so far throughout the year. I tried to implement and give the illusion effect with my northern lights and try to give the spiral effect but it didn't really turn out the way I want. I had also lost my piece and had to quickly rush to finish this by the due that however, I enjoyed drawing and learning new techniques while using new materials such as chalk and acrylic paint. I should spend more time focusing on the value and the trying to get the illusion of my piece.

This is my final color theory piece. I am pretty happy with how this turned out however, there are definitely much more improvements that are needed to be made to be generally proud of my piece. In this piece I implemented 6 of the color theories that we have learned throughout the unit in which we had to incorporate them into one whole collage that we worked on at the beginning of the unit. I enjoyed learned the different color theories and how each one of them can be used to create such a beautiful piece and it was definitely a struggle trying to figure out where to implement all 6 theories into one piece.
