   This is a type of codeswitch I naturally do all the time. I find it really interesting that the switch happens at this location, since the infintive marker 'l-' in hebrew is not entirely a standalone morpheme.

Mom: kuda vy idote? (where are you two going)- Russian

Me: rayh'en a'l shamal (we're going up north)- Arabic

Intrasentential:

1) friend: khallena nishtre hay (let's buy this)- Arabic

Me: No mesh h'elwi (no it's not pretty)- Arabic with English "no"

2) lazem shwayet drama a'shan el fun (we need a little drama to keep it fun)

Explanation for the first examle: This switch happened mainly for psycholinguistic reasons: it was easier for me to retrieve the words in Arabic than in Russian, especially because this specific type of answer is something I almost never say in Russian, so producing it in Arabic felt more natural and faster, since we both understand the two languages.

Explanation for the intrasentential examples: the switches can be explained mainly by psycholinguistic factors. I used fun because it was easier to retrieve than an equivalent word in Arabic at that moment. Similarly, using no instead of la may reflect quick lexical access, but it also have a socio-pragmatic element, since no often sounds more playful and casual in everyday conversation.

"Sivuv"

Example: "Im going to do a little sivuv arounf the block"

Explanation- This is intra-sentential since its a hebrew word used in english syntax, morphology, and overall structure. Its a hebrew word that is being fully used in an english environment.

2- Metaphorical:

"baruch hashem"

Example- "I finally got over the flu after 3 weeks, baruch hashem."

Explanation- Its a hebrew phrase that is being used in english, but the reason is since due to my jewish upbringing, the phrase "baruch hashem" hold a certain meaning that cant be captured in english (for me).

I would say that all three examples are intra-sentential code switching.

That is the kind I usually use, though I definitely experience also code interference. The first example may actually be code interference or possibly tag switching.

Examples:

“Not every day is pancake week for the cat” -- Not everyday is a holiday/Happiness passes away

“When the crayfish whistles on the mountain.” -- NEVER

“When there is no fish, even a crayfish counts as a fish.” -- When you don't have anything else, what you would have considered as "bad'' in the past gets better in your eyes.

As a recent resident of Israel, I started you use בסדר "Beseder" quite often between sentences in Russian and in English:

Беседер. Пошли туда.

Beseder. Let's go there.

(gan - kindergarten)

"bneroħ ʕal saʕa 3 bseder?"

: we will go at 3oclock okay?

meʕanjeen - מעניין

1- bukra fi tasliim assignment.

"tommorow there is assignment submition"

2- meʕanjeen ʃu haj el#cors .

"I am wondering what this course is" .

2- / nruːħ el#bark/ “let’s go to the park” when and / haaða keθiːr meʔanjeen/ “this is very interesting.”

3- Some borrowed words even take Arabicstyle grammar, like /batmazekan/ “I’m sitting under the AC” or / kejjeft/ “I had fun.”

Most of the codeswitching I use is Arabic to Hebrew on a daily basis. Although with certain people I use English just the same.
