I would say I come from a very good background. I definitely don't come from a rich family but not a poor one either. I was very lucky to come from such a good background with nothing too extreme in both directions.

One of my core beliefs would be to hold yourself at the highest level of self respect that you can. Don't be egotistical or arrogant, but respect yourself so that you can feel more confident and improve yourself without feeling bad about yourself. If you have low self respect, it will hinder and slow progress. Self respect should be a cause for improvement, not an effect of improvement, you can be proud of yourself for what you have achieved but if you don't respect yourself no achievement will fill the void of low self respect. You have to fill it by practicing self respect because self respect on its own is a skill that you can learn, and working on other things without working on self respect won't increase your respect for yourself. You should respect yourself no matter what level you are at.

I have a lot of things that I would like to improve on in my life such as soccer, chess, finances, and a lot more things that can always be better. But I know that life can change and so will our goals, so I'm always going to be passionate about pursuing my goals the best I can and pushing forward strongly no matter what I want to do. I also want to make sure I don't pursue the wrong things because ambition can lead people into the wrong direction. I always want to stay true and not let ego or the things I work towards make me change or let them determine my self worth.

My definition of a leader is someone who leads because they want to help people, not just assume a point of power. I think a leader should care about the group of people they are leading and wanting to lead them to success.

I hope to learn how to become a better leader and hopefully be able to gain some more insights in leadership that will help me in the future. I also want to just become a better leader because leadership is a very important skill in life and you never know when you will have to assume the position of the leader.
