<title>Both &quot;Fish Cheeks&quot; and &quot;Indian Education&quot; have mentions of being interested romantically in someone who&#39;s white, but the way they&#39;re described are different. In &quot;Indian Education,&quot; Victor is talking about how he&#39;s betraying his tribe by kissing a white girl, but in &quot;Fish Cheeks,&quot; Amy is ashamed of her own culture, but she doesn&#39;t mention how it affects her or her relationship to her own culture/family. Why do the authors do this? Why might they be so differently portrayed? - Julia</title>
