My name is George and I am the Director of Wellbeing Services at the University of Melbourne. I am a clinical psychologist by background and have maintained clinical and operational roles over a number of decades as well as being on a number of boards. I engage in professional development every year to refresh my knowledge and to continue to grow as a leader and manager. The micro-credential bundle at the Institute of reflective leadership is a way of doing this. I am not seeking any more promotions but am really trying to remain refreshed and renewed through challenging myself and my ways of doing things.

I am Cath, Fellow of the Governance Institute, with long experience in Risk Management. A few years ago I completed the Grad Dip in Corporate Governance, and work in an Internal Audit team. I am completing this course as an add on to my previous study, and to increase my understanding on the latest thinking in Corporate Governance.

I'm Evette Camroux, and I manage project and program / portfolio governance for the agency delivering social housing in NSW (Homes NSW). That involves managing Secretariat for 4 committees, from the committee that decides on social housing investments, up through pipeline governance to a Steering Committee with oversight of a $4b investment program, and managing interfaces with risk, procurement and program management.

I'm studying this micro-credential because I want a deeper understanding of the theory and practice of governance - ultimately so I can improve our governance documentation, decision-making and interfaces with program management and hopefully learn to enhance our governance culture. (I suspect we could create more of a culture of constructive challenge.)

My Linked-in profile is a bit of a mess (hence no link :), but I've been in governance roles for about 4 years now, studied program management and governance (UTS) along the way, and prior to that spent over 10 years in tender-writing, commercial and policy roles.

My name is Laura Murray. I am a town planner originally from Scotland but have lived in Melbourne for 18years. I have been a consultant in the private sector most of my career, currently Director in a small private practice. I am a graduate of AICD and sit on the national board of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) - the professional governing body representing town planners across Australia. I held previous roles through the VIC committee including at an executive level as VIC President. I am also a member of the Victorian Housing Advisory Group for Homes for Homes, a Big Issue initiative set up to support the delivery of more social and affordable homes. I am enjoying my experience being on a national board and keen to continue to expand my company director skills further.

I'm Stacey and I currently work for a government organisation in the Governance space. I've been in the role for 3 years but have never explored any kind of formal study in the area, so am hoping this course will support the learnings I've picked up on the job, and to help me progress into a Post Grad Cert or Diploma in the future :)

I am currently managing the various governance boards and committees for the Queensland Public Trustee. I have been in this role for about three years and worked in various policy settings across the Queensland Government before that. I am looking to formalise and expand my knowledge of governance and hopefully pick up some learnings that I can apply to my work

my name is Ellen, I work as Executive Officer at the University of Newcastle. I do a little bit of everything - comms, strategy, engagement - and governance plays a key role throughout my work. This includes things like reporting to Council, Board and Committee meetings, and meeting internal and external compliance requirements. I'm hoping to gain deeper knowledge and also come across the things I didn't know I should really know, or that are good practice. In addition to the course materials, I look forward to learning from others.

For the past six years, I have supported Senate/Council and their committees, as well as coordinated and managed AGMs. Prior to this, I worked in government, where I managed policy frameworks and led or supported initiatives focused on culture, process improvement and systems enhancement.

I have completed certificates in Governance and Risk Management and Governance Practice, as well as a Diploma of Business Administration. I am hoping to use this course as a pathway to postgraduate study.

My main goal is to build a formal qualification base to support my progression into a company secretary role, while further strengthening and rounding out my expertise in governance.
