Cyndia Garcia was born on December 23,1970 in Mexicali, Baja California. She was the fourth kid out of 7. Her parents names were Heraclio Garcia and Concha Santibanez. Growing up I lived with her siblings and with her father. My mother wasn’t really in the picture. My mother would just come an go. As a kid I would walk to school with my other little sister to the elementary school Republica Mexicana. I noticed that the schools seem not to be funded correctly because they were never painted right or the books they got weren’t with all the pages in them. My young days were full of fun if you excluded all the negative things in life. My favorite game to play with her siblings was “Brinca arriba de un burro”. The game goes as they were four people act like they are the donkey and four other people run and jump of the people on the floor. I mostly played outside but when I was inside its because my favorite show was on. The adventures of flash gordon was my favorite show. Sometimes they would have to watch it in English even though they didn’t understand because the Mexican channels wouldn’t pass.
Those kid days were the best because you didn’t have to worry about anything. At age 14 to 15 I started to have more problems with her mom. The reason was because she would just come to take the money away from my dad and act like everything was okay . Things just started to boil up. One day my mom came in the morning and just picked up my little brother Rafa and she thought she was going to take him away from us. As she was leaving the gate I yelled at her to let him go but she didn’t listen. So then I ran towards her and I grab her arm, as she was putting my little brother on the ground I swing my arm as hard as I can, and I slap her. This would change everything she said but she had to do it she told me that she couldn’t let that women take her little brother away from them. After that incident two weeks past and my mom returned. She told my father that she didn’t want me in the house anymore. So my father choose her over me. I didn’t know where to go. But she knew she had to cross to the other side.
My father took me to the people that were going to help me crossed. My dad was going to wait on the other side. I crossed to the United States at the age 15 through a wooden door at the end of the wall. I was scared because that’s when the U.S government was being more strict because of all the drugs passing over. After I crossed safely my dad took me to an uncle that will help me become a citizen in the U.S. I lived with him for about a year. After that year I went to go live in San Diego at a bordering school they had there. I don’t really remember what it was called. I attended Chula Vista High school were I graduated as well. Going to school was hard for me because I didn’t speak any English but I wasn’t going to make that an excuse. Girls tried bullying me for the way I spoke because I look innocent on the outside but in the inside I was strong. So they didn’t phase me at all. My father was the only one that went to my graduation. I understood that most of my family still couldn’t cross. I completed a year of community college and she also completed trade school for business administration.
After becoming a mom I understood my father. I understood that sometimes as a parent you are going to do stupid mistakes and you aren’t going to notice them to till later. Its always good to forgive because holding that anger towards someone isn’t going to do you no good. Growing up without a mom did hurt me in some ways but I didn’t let that hold me down. Even if you don’t have a dad or a mom that shouldn’t be an excuse for you not to become successful. My dream was to make my kids have a better life than me. To not have the struggling obstacles that I had when I was growing up she says.

Everybody is going to go through struggling times pero recuerda que manana siempre va ser un dia mejor anque no lo veas mijo.
