Acts 1 is about Jesus spending his last 40 days with the disciples. After his time was up he ascended into heaven. While all the disciples are together, a blazing fire that is the Holy Spirit comes over them, giving them the new power that Jesus promised. They begin to be able to speak in divine language, which all can hear as their own. People think that they are drunk, but they are not, they feel the Holy Spirit! Peter and John walk up to the temple where they meet a lame man who is begging. He asks for silver and gold, but they saw they don't have that but will give them something better. In the name of Jesus, Peter and John tell him to get up and walk, and he does. He is healed! In acts 4 while Peter and John are preaching in Jerusalem when the Sadducees arrested them, because they were proclaiming Jesus being resurrected. They high council asked Peter and John who gave them permission to heal the lame man. They told them that it was the Holy Spirit. The court didn't have anything to charge them with but they asked them to stop preaching. Peter and John said no.

In acts 5 we meet two people Ananias, a man and his wife Sapphira. They sold a piece of property, and donated the money; or at least they pretended to. They actually held back some of the money to keep for themselves. Ananias went with the money and gave it to the apostles. Peter realized through the Holy Spirit, "But Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?' " - Acts 5:3-4
Ananias died. Then his wife went to see Peter not know that her husband is dead. Peter asked her if she was truthful about the amount that the land sold for and she lied. Stephen was doing wonders at churches, but some people became angry, especially people from Cilicia and Asia. They had him arrested and brought before the council, who set up false witnesses. In acts 7 Stephen is taken outside Jerusalem and is taken to be stoned, and he launches into a speech, preaching the Gospel. This made the council mad. "Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him." - Acts 7:54 The people yelled and stoned him. As he was being stoned Stephen saw Jesus at the right hand of God. While that apostles were in Samaria a magician from there named Simon saw the miracles that the apostles performed and repented, and Simon gave up his life to follow the Church and went with the disciples. He saw the apostles cast out demons and give people the holy spirit through him and wanted the power too. He tried to buy the power but was told it is a gift of the heart from God. He was told to repent further. Saul went with some men down to Damascus to arrest more followers of Jesus when Jesus came to him in all his glory and blinded him. After 3 days of not seeing, eating, or drinking, a disciple named Ananias went to him and healed him, giving him the Holy Spirit, and Saul was baptized and strengthened. In acts ten, we meet a man named Cornelius. He was a roman centurion, who gave alms and believed. He saw an angel of the Lord who told him to seek Peter to be baptized. Then Peter got a vision from God where he saw unclean animals and was told to eat them. This symbolized that all people can hear the word of God. This caused Paul and Silas to be thrown in prison, but they kept heart and stayed strong. Finally, God saved them by having an earthquake free them. Paul was in Ephesus and was preaching the word of God. He preached for three years, causing many in Asia to hear the word. Some sons of a local priest hear Paul do things in the name of Jesus and tried to cast out a demon using the word Jesus like a magic spell.  ^"But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” ¹⁶ And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all^[d] of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded." - Acts 19:15 This didn't word as the name has no power the person does. They fled naked and wounded. Finally, some silversmiths in the area had fallen on hard times, and blamed Paul. In acts 24, Paul is called to trail against the governor Felix in Caesarea. Were the Jewish leaders brought false charges against him. Felix didn't know what to do with him so he left him in limbo for the next governor to deal with. "When two years had elapsed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. In acts 27 Paul decided that he was done with being in prison. He exercises his right as a roman citizen to be taken before Cesar to have his case decided. He boards a ship 270 other people and sets sail for Rome. Paul hears from God that there is going to be a storm and he warns the people, but they do not listen. A storm strikes and things go south. The people begin to lose hope. Finally, Paul has a second vision from God. Paul tells the Centurion that everything is going to be fine, but the ship will be destroyed. In acts 28 Paul is on Malta where he was shipwrecked during his voyage to Rome. He is with the Natives, and is building a fire when a viper bites him. He shakes it off and doesn't suffer any harm. The locals are amazed. He then heals all the villagers and sets off finally for Rome. He arrives and people come from far and wide to sea him and he meets believers. He also meets the local Jewish leaders and he tried to preach the gospel to them but they do not listen. He gets frustrated and gives up,. He stays in Rome for two years preaching and spreading the word of God. "And some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved."
