I learned something new everyday and most of the things I learned I left with a better understanding of teachers and all the things that make a school
- I would recommend this class to anyone, I was constantly engaged and felt comfortable enough to ask questions and engage with my peers. I was also able to enhance my writing skills, because of the detailed feedback from Dr. Harris I feel confident to write more papers!!
- The biggest take away from this course was advocacy. there needs to be more advocacy in the schooling system and a huge change, politics do not belong in school systems.

I thought it was really interesting when we learned about the Philosophy of Education aspect because I was able to tie that into my own education and how I view certain aspects of the American Education.
2. I think Chapter 11 was interesting as well because it focused on how outside factors could play a role in the student's education.
3. I also thought that Chapter 9 as it focused on the legal side of education and how history truly plays a role in the education system we know today.

I never thought about the difference purposes in schooling in depth before such as intellectual, economic, social, and civic. I learned that I mostly felt like it was a combination of intellectual and social. Schools teach students what they need to know about subjects and give them an opportunity to socialize and understand societal rules. I can also understand the civic and economic purposes as schools should prepare students for after graduation.
3. I enjoyed doing the Becoming a Teacher Advocate paper as I developed better writing skills and learned to view things through historical, philosophical, and equitable perspectives.
