I know with AI technology increasing, student unethically use it to draft their entire essay. I think if you had a sentence but wanted a different structure to it or something like that it could be beneficial.

I took a course on AI this summer at the University of Delaware, and I learned that AI is not good at using sources properly and it also makes up fake information just so it can give you something. They are called "hallucinations" since the info is fake and doesn't exist. These are just a couple of risks of using AI!

I think AI could be used as a tool to help deepen our understanding of a specific text and aid us in connecting key points of evidence to a thesis. Even simple questions generate tons of good ideas from AI and vastly different insights than our peers. AI writing should only be used as a tool to learn from and strengthen our understanding. The AI writing detectors can help us use it properly or at least stop people from using it improperly.

I think AI technology can be useful when it comes to outlines. Sometimes people have a hard time finding a starting point. If AI gave three of four potential starting topics that could help a person.

I think that AI has its positives and negatives. On one side I do believe that AI can help individuals who need inspiration for their writing to use as a tool to help guide them in the right direction. On the other hand, I think AI opens up a lack of responsibility, and can cause students to turn to it when feeling lazy. Using AI the smart way for school can help students get on the right track to successful writing, and even help deepen the knowledge of hard topics. If AI is used to plagiarize, schools will be forced to ban it, making students lose a valuable resource for learning.

I don't particularly like the idea of AI because it feels like we're letting technology take over everything and slowly it will just grow more until something goes wrong, or technology runs our lives completely without us even thinking about it. As of right now, some benefits could be that it's helpful when an assist is needed, if you need to get started, or need something clarified before you create and develop your own ideas.

I think using AI for writing is bad because sometimes false information is given and the whole time you think you're getting the right info. It's significant to research and write yourself. The way that AI can be used properly is by summarizing the statement that was given instead of copying word for word or maybe changing 1-3 words.
