Narrative: There was a classic use of misdirection where the audiences attention is on what's going on inside the wardrobe but really the 'evil entity' is on top of the wardrobe. This surprises the audience making them jump. Also background music is used to build up suspense for when the girl opens the wardrobe. We expect to see something jump at us but instead it comes out from a different direction. The use of silence creates an enigma as to where is the noise coming from.

Film Techniques: The use of close ups in this extract allows the audience to see the characters facial expressions, emphasising that they are scared and surprised.

Characters: Both characters are female which in horror would make them a stereotypical victim. Furthermore, one of the characters is a child which makes this character even more vulnerable.

Filming techniques: The close ups in the extract allows the audience to focus on the character's facial expression which is fear

The positioning of this shot keeps the wardrobe in shot as well as the two girls which creates anticipation and an ominous atmosphere.

Filming Techniques: Camera technique is used in this scene. An immediate zoom in is used when the audience is supposed to bring their attention to a character - Becomes a close up.

A very gory character is displayed in this image. Blood is dripping down the characters face along with creepy facial expressions. It is dark and this brings out the characters facial expressions and the blood since the blood is the only "colorful" effect in this scene. Everything else is a blunt color. Grey, white or black.
