The civil rights movement was a struggle for social justice in the 1960s for Black Americans to gain equal rights under the law in the United States. Though slavery had been abolished, many Black Americans still faced discrimination and racism while still really not having the same rights as a White American. 2. To still be respectful and mindful of the abuse and trauma that was inflicted upon people of color during this time and being able to be sympathetic to those who had to face such treatment. 3. Personally, I think there are still people today who are taught racism or follow people who have racist ideals that inflict that behavior onto minorities therefore profiling or harassing people of color. I think everyone should be able to be sympathetic and respectful to any type of person regardless of race. Making "jokes" that often involved problems minority groups have faced throughout history can be harmful to the community and others feelings. Being mindful of others struggles instead of adding a negative input can allow people to learn and become more understanding. Only when people become more mindful of their words and actions towards others is when a change will happen, without that then things can just become progressively worse.

It was to help bring justice to Black Americans who were facing discrimination and bring equal rights to everyone.

3. People need to understand that racism is still happening and that it needs to be addressed. It was a stand up to the system after many decades of racism, inequality, discrimination, and segregation. After slavery was abolished in 1865, African Americans were still having discrimination and didn't receive the full rights that they were promised.  Years of struggle and hate went on until the Civil Rights Movement was brought together in the 1950s to combat this. Things fully started to pick up after the media attention of Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat (RIGHTFULLY SO). 
2.) Beware of how you treat others and how you perceive people before getting to know them. Please understand that minorities are people too and you should be sympathetic of the struggles we have faced AND still face to this day. Listen and think about what is told.
3.) We need to know that the work still isn't done.
