Rollerblading was big in the 90's but has died over the decades. One aspect of this culture is  how quickly friendships can form ( if there are other rollerbladers around). Since rollerbladers are scarce these days, anytime there is another rollerblader at the park a connection is made. Since i've been living in Utah In the last 10 years, I have made enough friendships to always have someone to skate with. Another aspect of this culture that has developed who I am is having a tough mentality. If I fall, I instantly get back up and try again. My grandma always made the best foods but one would never find any types of pork in the house. It was forbidden to have this type of meats and would not be even slightly funny to joke about having bacon for breakfast. My dad told me when he was growing up, his parents would be concerned if his friends would partake in eating pork. Another aspect of this religion is how different the funerals are compared to the norm. When my grandma passed away , it was tradition for everyone to dress in white and to have the the grandsons fill the burial hole once the casket was put in place. I enjoy listening to all different genres but the main ones I tend to gravitate towards is reggae, house music, rock, and rap.I believe that reggae on house music attracts people that have an open mind and are not judgemental of one another. If one goes to a concert, bright lights, smoke machines, good vibes, and loud music can be found. The way people dress and present themselves can also give some insight to what type of music they listen to. People who have dreads may be into reggae, as well as people who have studded belts may be into different types of rock/metal. Although this does not apply to everyone, it was interesting to see the choice of clothing I chose to wear growing up based on the type of music I was into. It is almost like being in a small town, everyone greets another with a smile and a friendly hello. The types of nutrients packed can resemble one another such as nuts, granola bars, and big bottle of water. In the backpacking world it is always a ritual to see how light of a pack one can make before the trip and it is almost a competition between me and my friends. We are definitely not the lightest of packers but we make sure we have everything we need to be comfortable. This include lightweight speakers for music, compact boilers for food and water, and lightweight shelters. My residence at that time was in the Los Angeles area and a quick trip to venice beach can be eye opening to the variety  California can offer. Freak shows, public entertainers, and a wall dedicated just for graffiti are some quick examples of the cultures to be found. I would not consider a freak show to be full of freaks, but rather a group of people that have an interesting set of skills or abilities. I do not look at the time and patience people put into graffiti as a destruction of the city, but rather as a form of art. I was watching a video once of a group of people in venice beach that started playing latino type music on the strand. This brought together many people who started salsa dancing together in enjoyment.
