Well, to be brutally honest I have a lot to learn. My biggest lesson has occurred because of the Pandemic. If I was a little more 'tech savvy', I would have been able to provide my students who were self isolating with resources at a quicker rate and also a much easier demand on my time than it was. As I have said previously on our discussion board, I've learnt a lot already about the value of high quality technology. I will do some more research before I choose the technology that I am adding to my learning sequence. I have also taken a step forward already by applying and being accepted to join a steering group that will try out new technology before it is introduced at my place of work. The main skill that I want to learn is how to include technology into my teaching and still have a personal connection with my students. I want to ensure that I am providing high quality learning experiences that support the best outcomes for my students.

I had no experience teaching online until May 2020 when the coronavirus lockdown changed the way my institution operates. I completed an online PD course with Monash University alumni which introduced me to some key concepts like TPACK and also some recent research. I began using Padlet and Microsoft teams to teach online and found it daunting in terms of hours that it takes to prepare online lessons and semester units from scratch. For 7 weeks this semester how we teach was completely restructured: I was teaching in mornings at school and online from home in the afternoons. This included a switch to a hybrid classroom in the mornings – teaching both face to face in the classroom and students at home in Yangon or on another campus in a different city throughout the country at the same time – I was teaching students in Yangon, Naypyidaw and Myeik simultaneously and this was a challenge to adjust to. I think I am doing well in creating lessons for specific ILOs, using a variety of engaging websites and resources, and I have attempted to use breakout rooms and group work online, including monitoring of student progress and giving feedback but I feel that I can improve in many areas, including in areas cited in our weekly module by Siemens, Gasevic & Dawson 2015:

Using interactive and engaging content,

Structured collaboration with peers; and,

Formative feedback

I think my students currently lack a lot of experience in using technology to learn in ways that they will need to learn in the future, including specific knowledge in how to learn independently and higher order thinking skills.

The TPACK articles resonated with me, since coming from teaching in Africa where we were avant-garde using a digital projector, both studying this course online, and looking at creating an online course for my students back there has been a challenge.
I think confidence will come once (if?) I get positive feedback once I post the course, which will be written when I'm not so busy studying myself ...
Limitations will be for Africans: access to good internet (expensive, low bandwidth) and technology, so mobile phone options (apps, social media) seem to be the way forward.

In online teaching I need to develop my skills and confidence in building activities that really engage online students in both synchronous and asynchronous environments. I find it very difficult to replicate the good engagement we have in face to face classes in online environments such as Collaborate and Blackboard in general. I am not sure about the answer to the second question but I imagine they will need to communicate well across very similar platforms on these and other issues.

•	What area do you feel you need to develop to build your confidence and competence in online teaching? -	Better understanding of Blackboard, how to connect to PowerPoint as a slideshow but still see students comments or questions. Currently operating PowerPoint through Blackboard Collaborate cuts out this function. -	Engaging students to be more interactive in collaborative sessions within the virtual classroom.•	What do you think your students in your discipline/subject will need for their professional future that either the course is limited in, or you are limited with? - More funds to attract IT App companies to teach students new software that now drives management and collaboration within our industry, along with capable computers to drive this software. Collaboration spaces that are interlinked so that one lecturer can present in multiple rooms from one location.

I have had limited experience teaching online. There was a small period here due to COVID in Perth where online teaching was essential and teachers needed to be up skilled very quickly under pressured conditions.
I managed well with the process of moving online however something I would like to improve is the ability to turn the online lesson into something more collaborative should we move to online learning again in the future.
It was very much a didatic process with little opportunity for student-student interaction which is SO important to consider when students are used to socialising and collaborating with their peers.

I think I am competent in using the technologies such as Zoom and Collaborate at a basic level but I would like to be able to engage with students by using different functions which as polls, quizzes and white board. I main skill I would like to be able to develop is encouraging students to participate in the online setting. Often students are shy or struggle on some level to use the technology which makes it difficult at times to establish a community of learners in the online setting.

I agree with Jacqueline that I also find it difficult to keep the level of engagement. I don't know whether it's me who cannot see it or online students are not as engaged. I have to admit that I sometimes multitask during online meetings and, from my experience, multitasking is not really multitasking, as my attention shifts to whatever I focus on the most. At the same time, I find it difficult to find suitable tools among so many of them already out there - what is the best?

While they use technology regularly, there’s limited time in the course to help them use it strategically and professionally. Supporting this transition from casual use to purposeful, work‑ready use is something I’m still developing as a lecturer.
