Many Countries are improving their HIV/AIDS prevention programs in Africa. Over the past decade, condom use Africa has increased. 2013, over 900,000 pregnant women accessed antiretroviral treatment, equating to a coverage of 68%.Studies from 2009-2011 indicated that circumcising 80% of men in 14 priority countries in Eastern and Southern Africa in 5 years could avert 3.4 million new infections over the next 15 years.

The epidemic of HIV/AIDs creates multiple problems for Africa. Reducing the number of productive workers, the disease will create severe labor shortages in industries and agriculture. Schools and hospitals will be understaffed. This will affect families of Africa because a large number of children will loose their parents to AIDs, already leaving more than 13million African children orphaned. Children may grow in poverty with few opportunities and little hope.

Knowledge is the best prevention from the HIV/AIDs infection. HIV/AIDs infects 71% of the global total of Africa. The epidemic does not have a gender, race, or age- anyone is susceptible to contracting this disease. Today, millions of children watch their family members die from HIV/AIDs and are often left without parents in the end. It would be an honor to be funded the 5 million dollars that would be needed to help teach the population of Africa about the concept of safe sex and the use of condoms. One third of the money would be put towards the giving and teaching of condoms. Workers wold be hired to speak publicly about HIV/AIDs and hand out the condoms. Another third of the money would be put into treatments and given to scientists who are researching for a cure. Our goal would be to set up HIV clinics and hire doctors to work the clinics. The last third of the money would be spent on prevention facilities and education facilities that would be established all throughout Africa to educate and prevent the generations of Africa about how this disease is contracted and transmitted. 5 million dollars is certainly not enough to treat or cure the HIV/AIDs infection- but it is a step in the right direction.

HIV/AIDs is the disease that is spread the most throughout Africa. In all, 23.8 million people are infected with HIV and an estimated 1.4-1.7 million are killed every year. Malaria kills an estimated 655,000 people every year. Malaria can also be cured, but HIV can only be slowed down by drugs. Human lives and safety is more important than lives of a few thousand animals. Refugee camps will barely see any improvement with as little as 5,000,000 dollars.

With the 5 million dollars front he UN It would work towards advancing the medical equipment and hiring doctors from around the world. Also open up clinic to not only check people but to educate them of of HIV/AIDS and the many dangers it possesses. This can reduce the amount of adults and children dying every year from HIV/AIDS, about 1 million. 8 out of 10 children in the world whose parents have died of AIDS live in sub- Saharan so the money would also go towards creating orphanages and helping the the children live a simpler life although they are diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
