PIAGET
Piaget divided the game in 3 periods:
_EXERCISE GAMES (0-2 years old)
The child starts to control the movement with the exercise (bring objects to the mouth);
_SYMBOLIC GAMES (2-7 years old)
They use a different object or gesture when they don't have a toy to play with;
_RULES GAMES (7-11 years old)
It's a type of game that increases with age.

FREUD
REEL GAME
It's a repetitive game that for the child.
It represents the absence and presence of the mother.
 
WINNICOTT
He estabilishes a psychic area and the transitional object, for example a stuffed animal or a blanket cloth.
The child is very emotionally linked to the transitional object.

ANNA FREUD (Sigmund Freud's daughter)
The game needs to control and calm their fears.
Ex. if the child is afraid of the doctor, he himself is the doctor.

VYGOTSKIJ
According to him in the game the idea is separate from objects.

MANZI
Through the game the child knows the world and his body.

The game is a very important activity for children and their
 future.

It's an activity that should be taught  at elementary school.

The typical aspect of the game is pretending, the child plays in his mind and imagines to be in another situation.

For the children between 2-7 years old the game became symbolic, the children add more fantasy to the game that through this fiction rappresents a fake reality. The typical game example is the "to pretend", the illustration to be a cap and imagination to have a handgun.

This step is a very important because allows the child to imagine a new situation and assimilate it.

The rules of the game 7-11 years old: in this step the children add some rules to the game.
