There are so many assets in my school community/student population! Our school community shows up for our school and teachers. Since I started there, I have felt so welcomed by my school community. Our students and their families give feedback when things aren't working. Our students ask incredible questions and are comfortable sharing their mistakes and taking risks.

I think I am an asset to my students because I believe their opinions matter. I build a space for them to take risks and to let me know what they think. I incorporate their suggestions when I can. I am an asset to my school because I am positive and high energy. I throw myself into projects I'm passionate about (Earth Day and school plays).

They bring a lot to the table in terms of life experience and different perspectives.
My school is small so most students know each other and they deeply love one another. The hallways are a friendly place to be during a normal year.

2. Me: I don't take myself too seriously and will act a fool for my kids to get them engaged and make them laugh. I am everyone's cheerleader, both students and staff. I can't throw to save my life but you better believe candy is flying across my classroom constantly. I have a huge passion for math and I try to infuse that into all my lessons with my students. "Isn't that so cool?" is a frequent thing you'll hear in my classroom.
