Do we submit four separate documents or one?
- A: You submit one document, containing four components, each part must be clearly titled, i.e. Career Plan.
What writing style should I use?
- First person.
Are subheadings included within the word count?
- Yes.
Do I need to add a bibliography? And if so, do I add one for each component?
- If you are referring to books/articles (anything other than your module content), then please add a bibliography. You can add one bibliography at the end of the entire document.
How many times am I expected to reference?
- There is no specific number, however we expect the majority of your references to appear in component number 2 (the research and reflection of skills needed).
Can I include images?
- Yes, if relevant. You may wish to refer to your skills matrix, if you do, you can include it as a figure or in the appendix. Wording will be included within the word count.

- Choose skills that are unique to you, try and avoid the generic standard ones. Think about your goals and what unique skills you can develop.

How many activities/tasks should I reflect on?

Do not focus on the number, focus on activities/tasks that developed you in some way, allow yourself to be honest about how you felt before, during and after. Link them back to your personal journey.

Q: In the career plan it mentions that use skills from the skill matrix? Where are they and do they have to be skills from there ?

A: Good question, the skills matrix can be found on Learning Zone (Assessment > Assessment Brief) and is titled is titled "self reflection tool". Once you have decided on your career, think about 4/5 skills you need to support your aspirations and add them to the self reflection tool. This should then produce you a diagram showing you the growth areas.

Q: If we state the course we will be doing in order to improve our skills along with the course title, where it takes place and stuff do we reference that. E.g. a course with the law society for improving legal research skills. Do we reference it to the page with all the course info?

Q: In regards to the word count, eg career plan 750 words. Do we need to strictly follow this word count or use this as an indication when writing our assessment. Would we be penalised for going over the word count if we had eg. 900 words in the career plan rather than the guideline 750?

A: Good question, the word counts for each component are guidance, however there is the total word count of 5000 words and 10% above this will trigger the the penalty.

Q: In relation to the word count question already listed, can we use the word count flexibly for each element of the question eg. use 500 words for the careers plan but then spend those left over words on another reflection area of the assessment or do we need to strictly keep to the guidelines advised. Is there any flexibility to choose how we use the words to each component whilst staying in the 5000 word limit?
