For 10 years, she served as a High School SEL Counselor at CNG, supporting various graduating classes. In 2025, she transitioned to the College Counseling office, where she now works with high school students whose last names fall in the final third of the alphabet.

Aiming to strengthen the partnership between home and school, we introduced the theme The Anxious Generation through an interview with Jonathan Haidt. Questions derived from the interview were used as discussion starters. Both parents and Counselors had the chance to exchange perspectives and practical suggestions.

⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️: Depression

When your child is struggling with depression, it’s one of the hardest things you can face as a parent. In this third video of the series with my oldest son, Elijah, we share what’s helped us navigate those moments—without losing trust or respect for each other.

Here are the three steps that have made a real difference for us:
1️⃣ Give them other people to talk to—you can’t be their only outlet.
2️⃣ Give them space—emotional and physical—so they can breathe.
3️⃣ Let them experience the consequences of their actions before stepping in to help.

It’s not easy, it’s not perfect, and it’s not the same for every family. But these steps have given us a better way to show up for each other.
