He has writen other works of literature such as The Iliad.

Homer was born in the early 1200's B.C.

He is famous for his work, The Iliad and The Odyssey even though he has written more stories than just those.

He was considered legendary rather than historical.

The Iliad and The Odyssey were composed of many stories about different figures and gods.

Since all works of literature were passed down orally, they started to loose detail and certain characters.

Homer did not create the gods in his story, but rather collected many stories and put them all into one story.
