You may use whatever editing software you feel you'd like to learn and makes the most sense for your project. That being said, make sure you indicate what you'll use and why in our digital skills matrix so that I can put you into more effective working groups.

I would recommend some of us try and use Adobe Premiere so that we can work together as a group and help one another out. Please note that Adobe has many useful tutorials for both beginners and experienced users to make using these programs easier:

In this course, you're not expected to purchase any software or equipment in order to produce your final instructional video beyond reason (i.e. not more than the cost of a course book). It's highly recommended that you use resources that are free and that you stick to what you have. So, if you only have a smart phone for filming, that's fine. Then go and learn how to get the best out of it and share what you're learning with others here in this forum by starting your own thread.

Equipment on loan from the FHNW

For those of you either in need or want of equipment, there are some options available at the FHNW.

The Marketing department has Panasonic Lumix GH4 which could be borrowed for a short period of time (1-3 days max). If you are interested in this, you would need to contact

Additionally, there are several cameras, microphones and tripods along with memory cards available for loan at reception. Please get in touch directly with reception (building 5 first floor) to reserve this if you're interested.
