The main difference of vertebrates and intervertebrates is the presence of the back bone.

Vertebrates have a back bone or spinal fish. Examples include mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. And they usually have more complex structure and organ system. Humans and other mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians and birds are vertebrates.

Intervertebrateon the on the other hand is a cold-blooded animal with no back bone. Invertebrates can live on land like insects, spiders, worms, or in water. marine intervertebrates like crustaceans (such as crabs and lobsters), mollusk (such as squids and calms), and coral.
