In 2016, Adarsh Society building, originally a 6-story housing project for war widows, received illegal fundings from politicians and military officers and it is now a 31-story apartment. Further acts of corruption took place when the flats were allegedly sold to the riches at prices much cheaper than the market rate. A more common way of corruption happens between businessmen and commissioners. Businessmen bribe and pay powerful men for if they fall out of favor from any of the government officers, they are in danger of losing their business, land, and factory.

It has been a developing country for nearly 4 decades however compared to other Asian nations nearby, the GDP hasn’t grown as much as it should have. The living conditions of the Indian citizens are below average. For example, most roads have a life of 2 to 5 years, when more economically developed countries are able to build roads that hold up to 20 years. This is due to contractors using cheap materials to fill up their pockets. There are many local infrastructures that fall apart causing fatal accidents as well. Furthermore, lower class citizens face severe poverty and lack of education systems provided at school makes it impossible for children to improve their economic status.
