I thought my reaction to the article was impactful because the poem was more a reaction while the article was an analysis, which I understand more. The article answers a lot of questions people might have on the word, while the poem is a firsthand experience, which I think is a good follow-up. But at the same time, the poem uses feelings and experiences which are naturally more impactful. The rhyming connect the poem, but the story is one that some may connect to, but everyone can learn from. Words can change a life for better or for worse and this poem illustrates that beautifully.

I think that there were some good points that were brought up, but I still think that the poem was more impactful. I think the poem had a greater impact because it showed an important problem in very few words. It highlighted a specific situation in a way that was understandable to every person that reads it and I reacted strongly to it. The poem had a greater impact on me because it showed how one experience can change someone's life.

My reaction to the article is that I think it would be an interesting class to take at college. Also to learn how to respect others and not insult them using that word. Though, I thought the poem was more powerful because of the rhyming that was used and the real life example of an African-American boy being called the N-word. This caused a more powerful statement in my opinion. The article was basically facts and examples and didn't seem as powerful..

It also shows that you should mostly try to avoid using the word in public because it could really hurt some people even if others are ok with it or understand the reasoning behind it. I think the poem was more impactful because it talked about a real specific example of how this can happen and also gave his opinion, thoughts, and the feelings he got from it.

But then it started to go into how the class is really about the history of the word and who uses it, and also how the word has evolved and how it is still evolving overtime. I thought the poem was more impactful because it was short, but it had a lot of different meanings behind it. The poem also got to the point very quickly while the article had a lot of different points that didn't flow as smoothly.
