One of the best things my mom ever taught me is what I'm about to share with you. I used to get all worked up about what everyone else thought about me when I was your age. I stressed out about my clothes, hair, how tall I was, the fact that no boys liked me or knew I existed, and worst of all, I worried about what everyone thought about me. I vividly remember one day fretting over my outfit, which was- and let's be real- probably involving pants that were a little too short and a shirt that looked awkward on my thin frame. She looked at me and told me flatly, "No one even cares how you look, you know. They're all just worried about themselves and how THEY look." I thought about it, and she was right. Think about it. When someone is awful to you about your appearance, it isn't because they actually care how you look. They're doing it because they don't feel right about something internal. NO ONE ACTUALLY CARES!!!! Isn't that wonderful?
One of the best things my dad ever taught me is how to build things and work with my hands. He taught me the basics of power tools and he instilled in me a love of creating furniture, fixing up old furniture, remodeling spaces, and it's probably my most favorite thing to do. I have been working since July on renovating our bathroom and it's getting close to being finished. Maybe I will share before and after pictures with you when I'm done.
My parents are now in their 70s, and I'll tell you that it gets weird when your parents get older. It will happen to you faster than you think. I spend time feeling grateful for them, although I think I should tell them so more often. So hug your parents and grandparents and tell them thank you and that you love them, even when you're mad at them.

Since Monday of this week, I had to start riding the bus to the swim center. But in the mornings I have to take my swim bag to the office, so I can pick it up after school. But a certain teacher, I will leave unknown, apparently does not understand what I am doing, and why I have to. Even when I have a friend who has to do the same thing she will continue to get mad. Saying things such as “You all don’t have to go” or “not all of us need to go, and we can do it separately.”
This is extremely annoying when my friends and I need to do something and the teacher, continues to get mad. Walking down the hall to the office I can hear her getting mad. And after we are done she glares at us as we walk away. I really wish she would stop and let me and other people do what they need to do.

Hey guys welcome back to top 10 today we’re gonna be talking about my top 10 least favorite things thanks for joining today in this beautiful padlit.

1. When parents dot answer. Doesn’t everybody just like hate it so much when parents yell your name and then you yell back what and then they don’t AWNSER. Like this one time they where like “LILY” from upstairs so I was like “WHAT” and then they didn’t say anything else. So I hade to walk all the way upstairs to have a Conversation with my sisters and parents about what we were gonna do that day.

2. When my mom doesn’t awnser. So today I was talking about how she always spaces when I ask a question. And her response was I constantly ask questions when she’s busy. The problem is I ask questions so much because she never answers them. Like I constantly ask you questions because you never give me answers how my supposed to know what the answer is if you don’t even say anything after so then I had to ask it again later in the day and that’s why I asked so many questions. Like if you just answer me the first time instead of spacing out then I wouldn’t have to ask it again later in the day. Sorry about that when I really needed to vent on, OK moving on.

3, when my dog eats my stuff. So does anybody have a one dog that busts into the room and take something and leaves. Like I’m obviously going to know that you took something so then I have to go chase after them and grab it. Like if you want to be smart then you don’t literally come in my room and grab something from it when I’m literally looking at you it doesn’t really work.

4. When people Eww what I’m eating. Say I’m eating like sushi or Kim Chee and then somebody or one of my friends is like what is that I’m like it’s my lunch. And then they’re like that doesn’t look very appetizing or Eww. If you don’t like it then you don’t have to stare at it and say Eww to me just walk away.

5. When The teachers call our classmates our friends. Especially if there’s somebody I really don’t like in that class. Why are your friends being loud like they’re not my friends this really was more common in elementary school that was I’m so glad the middle school teachers don’t do it.

6. When Padlet doesn’t let you see what you’re typing. I don’t know why but this really gets on my nerves how Padlet doesn’t let you see the stuff you were typing or scroll up so you can actually see it when you’re typing. It I don’t know if this is just my iPad, but it makes me so mad like why can’t you just fix it and let me see what I’m typing. It so much harder to type when I can’t see what I’m typing.

7. When people are hypocrites. For instance if somebody I know goes stop talking to the people around them and then starts talking to somebody else. Like I know it doesn’t sound like that actually happened but it’s happened to me more than once. Like first of all you need a stop it. Second of all don’t be a hypocrite. Third of all why?

OK guys this isn’t part of the top 10 it’s just like an intermission. So we are getting closer to number 10 I didn’t actually number these by how much I hated them, I just number them like whatever came to my mind. So if you were wondering, like I don’t hate when parents don’t answer the most that’s just what came to my mind first. So I just wanted to let you guys know and I hope you enjoy the rest of the Padlet.

8. When somebody wakes me up. I don’t know if you can relate to this one but I hate it so much when people wake me up. And like start rummaging through drawers. And I’m just like STOP IT. GET out I’m trying to sleep. Why can’t you sleep to I wanna sleep in late I know you like to get up early but I was sleeping.

9. When people take my food. Doesn’t everyone just hate it when you come to school or you have a snack and it’s so good and you were waiting all day to have it, and your friends are like can I have it. Like NO I’m not gonna give it to you. I made this or I bought this. I don’t have anymore. I’m not gonna give you the best thing from my lunch. Go away and eat your own lunch.

10. When teachers complain about having to grade a lot of homework. Sometimes one of my teachers this usually happens in elementary school though, would complain about having to grade a lot of homework (or a sub). The problem is that you guys assigned it. So if you don’t wanna grade as much homework done don’t assign this much homework.

Thank you guys so much for staying for my whole rant if you did. I don’t know why but I just felt like doing this. Hope you liked it. It just really helped me vent.

Hello and welcome back to the real news. Can you guess what Alyssa is complaining about this week? If you guessed break, you’re right!

Welcome to YOU HAVE HOW MUCH HOMEWORK? In this segment we see Alyssa complain about the amount of homework she has. Alyssa states “Most days I do more work at home than I do school.” In a follow up interview she just kept saying “I hate homework,” over and over.

Now onto the main event BREAK. Break is just a weird time for Alyssa; she’s just waiting for break to end so she can eat. It’s like they're tempting her by letting her get her lunch box and walk it around and then take it away from her. It also can’t be too different for people who have lunch first. Like seriously, it’s just ok, you can eat and be happy. But now wait 15 minutes outside in the cold and then go to class. Like we get it, we are supposed to talk to people or play a game, but why can’t we do that inside where it’s not freezing cold!

This has been the real news with Alyssa, see you next week.

Last week on Saturday I went to the football game for the little 3rd grader and I didn’t know what was happening the majority of the time. It was very boring and I stood the entire time and that made my legs hurt. So I was bored and in pain. It wasn’t that fun but after that my mom and I did a couple of other things and later at six or something my cousins that I don’t like and the family of the 3rd grader came over to my house and spent the night. It was actually fun, but I didn’t like my cousins being there just because one of them is really annoying.

We also got new seats in advisory, or at least I did. This new seating arrangement is worse because the kid that sits in front of me is also annoying and I’d prefer to go back to my old seat because I’m not to fond of this one. I’m also VERY close to the teacher and I don’t like that. She can see everything that I’m doing now. Not that I do anything bad but it’s just to close for comfort. But no one sits behind me so I do like that but otherwise it’s just a bad seating arrangement.

As soon as I get home my priorities are homework, and chores and then I barely have time for anything else.

The real news and how I see it is I hate the weather right now because it’s so inconsistent. Half the day I’m freezing and then in 2 seconds I’m sweating so much. This makes it hard to plan outfits because I have to make sure I won’t be too cold and I won’t be too hot.

Welcome back to: TRNN. And I am so happy to see you again! And here is your host, your favorite news reporter…..Nate!

Halloween is dawning, or should I say dusking, (see what I did there? Halloween is at night!) in just two weeks. I personally can’t wait for Halloween to come, for it is just so fun to see everyone so excited for this holiday! There is my first topic: Halloween and how it is celebrated at Baker Prairie. What are the school traditions? Do students dress up? Are there limitations to costumes? I feel that the school should give us this info on what is going to happen, and the rules for this special day. I might be a little early on this, for you are probably going to tell us next week, but I still want to know what to do.

Then we have our next segment. Rain. To specify, the rain going on during break. If you aren’t in one of the periods that rains almost every day, then you might not have a connection to this as others, but it could happen to you soon. I feel that the instead of making it so when you have to go into the gym, instead of only playing basketball, they should have places where you can do other things. Outside, you don’t play basketball on the baseball field, or wall ball on the soccer field. They need to let us play other sports, because I would really like to see some diversity inside. They could have half court, or part of one of the smaller courts for basketball, where they can do a scrimmage, and the other half for wall ball, or maybe some other sport.

That, folks, sums up today broadcast. If you enjoyed, make sure to leave a like and comment. And of course, see you next week!

Welcome back to another news report with me! I’m just going to give you guys a heads up that I don’t really have anything fun or exciting going on right now, but I’ll try my best! First of all, at my house, we are getting our yard redone. The people came over and teared out the grass yesterday. So pretty much, our yard is a mud pit. It is however, fun to watch them rip out the grass. Second, (sorry these things I’m talking about are not very school related.) Do you guys ever bake things then lick the batter off the spatula, or out other bowl? I love to bake and every time I always lick the batter (a lot). Every recipe I’ve ever used says not to eat the batter because it’s not super healthy. Have they ever thought that if they didn’t want you to eat it, then why did they make it so good? I just made brownies, and the batter is the best thing ever! This is probably a habit I would like to break, but also, BATTER IS SO GOOD AND I NEVER EVER WANT TO STOP!!!!!

Next, my dad once told me a story about when he was in middle school. He said that he was wearing a jacket and then he closed his locker and he got stuck in it. Also, he couldn’t get back into his locker. I asked him if he ever thought about just taking off his jacket and coming back for it later. He said, “Why didn’t you tell me that when I was in middle school!?!?!” I kindly pointed out that I wasn’t alive when he was there. I just took some clothes out of the dryer and they got stuck in the door and that’s when I thought of this story to tell you guys…😂
Thanks for reading my super not relatable to school, super long news report! Hope y’all enjoyed it! Have an awesome day!

So one time, like 2 years ago, my mom left to go to the store or something and I was playing on like a mini basketball hoop inside. I threw the ball super hard for no reason and I kinda broke one of my moms glass decorations. Now I didn’t know what to do at the time but I put it back together the best I could hoping my mom would find out I broke it. So just kept shooting hoops when finally my mom got back. When she looked at the table that the decoration was on, she immediately knew it was broken. I got grounded because I didn’t tell her ahead of time. So next time I break one of my moms decorations(probably soon) I should probably tell her

Breaking news! Fights! Drama! Boring old school…

Any who, continuing my rant, recently I’ve noticed a lot of drama happening lately with “girlfriends” and “boyfriends”. Lots of people lying and it’s starting threats and fights. It’s just annoying to think about, why even start rumors? Your popularity doesn’t skyrocket, and it’s just weird and rude. So maybe think twice before spreading the rumor that Patricia smells.

Time for dad jokes! Not bad jokes… what did the janitor say when he jumped out of the closet? Supplies! How does the moon cut his hair? Eclipse it! Where do fruits go on vacation? Pear-is! Moving swiftly along, I noticed a lot more kids play basketball at recess. I don’t mind, in fact I like it, it’s a lot more people to play against/with so it’s nice. And now folks it has to end, as all good things do. Thanks for joining me, Luke 1 news signing off.

This week I have been way to tired and it’s sometimes been hard for me to get up in the morning. After school I have dance Monday through Thursday and it goes from 3:30 or 4:30 all the way to 7:30 or 8:30 depending on the day. So by the time I get home I have to eat dinner and I’m absolutely exhausted and then I finally get to go to bed and sleep. But then the morning comes quickly and it happens all over again. But then sometimes I have to stay up way later I wanted to if I have homework.

Also after the four day weekend that I had, including driving all day on Friday going to Spokane and then driving all day on Sunday coming home and on Saturday we went to a football game that was like 3 hours and my sisters lacrosse game that was about an hour. So my weekend was very exhausting and then I wasn’t prepared for the school week and now I’ve been tired non-stop all week.

Hey there everyone! Welcome back to the weekly news with Emma. Something big that is going on right now is the band concert! I’m super excited, but nervous. The only thing that I’m not looking forward to is that we can only invite 1-2 people to come watch. This is a big bummer because my grandparents always come to concerts. The went to both my brothers, and my cousin’s. This also means that my own brother can’t even come. Also, one of my best friends is going to a homeschool/charter school and we don’t get to see each other very often and I had told her that if is was possible, she should come watch the concert. Now I have to tell her she can’t come. Also, Beginning Band and Advanced Band have to have to separate concerts because of how many people that can have in a room right now with COVID, so that means we don’t get to hear the more advanced pieces of music.

My second thing is… well… umm… I don’t know. Am I the only person that likes to read and right “real news”, but some weeks you just don’t have anything exciting going on in your life and other weeks you feel like you could go on and on about different things? I guess I’ll just talk about my dog, Daisy. She is the cutest little fluff-ball. She’s a Miniature Australian Labradoodle, and is apricot colored. She might be adorable, but I don’t think there is any dog I know that has more problems than her. 😂 First, she gets sick if we leave her home alone because for the longest time, COVID kept us all home, all we did was stay at home. The down side to that is if we want to go anywhere we have to drop her off at my grandparents house. Another thing is that she has stomach issues. Like, really, really bad stomach issues. I think we have been through three different dry dog foods since she was a puppy, and a couple of wet dog foods. Also, she has hurt her back multiple times because she jumps of things that are too high for her, and it’s just about impossible to stop her because she moves ALL THE TIME! Lastly to top things off, she’s deathly allergic to bees. So, we have to carry around an epi-pen for her all the time.
See you next week!

We have been playing Bad mitten And I am really bad at it I can hardly serve and I’m short so I can’t hit the high ones or basically any ones for that matter. It’s also really fun playing against the really good teams.

I also decided I’m going to talk about how tired I am every day at school and I want to go to sleep. I personally feel like they should change the times for starting school. The elementary get to start school at nine and we get to start at 7ish.

Here is the real news as I see it: Halloween is coming up and i am having the hardest time choosing what I want my costume to be. On one side I want to be Coraline but at the same time I want to be a ghost.. although I also wanna be star fire. BUT MAYBE SOMEONE FROM ALICE IN BORDERLANE? I don’t know. And they are all from like 4 COMPLETELY different shows. And for the past 2 years I haven’t been going trick or treating, so this year I won’t either, although I do want to I completely understand why i can’t. I’m ok with it though because every year my grandpa and grandma spoil me and my brothers with little goody bags. And coincidentally I am writing this about an hour after I’m my family got boo’d. If you don’t know what getting boo’d is, it’s where you put together a little Halloween themed goody bag full of candy and such then you put it at someone’s door step then basically just ding, dong, ditch.

Tomorrow is our final xc meet and as I’m not nervous for it right now I will be very nervous when I get there because the coaches are saying there is going to be around 1-2k people, which is crazy. They have also told us about three different stories of people throwing up at the end of the race because they ate something about 10-20 minutes beforehand. And something that is really exiting thatI am really looking forward to tomorrow is getting out at 12:50 just to be there early😜. I was told there was going to be around 12 different teams and half of them we haven’t even competed against so it will be stressful. However, looking at how many 7th grade girls there are compared to the 6th grade girls while running I feel like the 6th grade girls have like 3x as much people.

This 8th grader Caden came up to me and gave me this yellow baby penguin ice pack. Some of you may have seen it, or if you’re Andrew or Nate, you may have flicked it. That’s not important, anyways, I was carrying it around with me since break until after school when I was walking home with Gabe. When we were walking under this bridge to go home, (on the walking trail) he STOLE baby penguin from out of my hands and THREW BABY PENGUIN ON THE RAILROAD TRACKS!!! When I went down there to go save Baby Penguin I nearly got hit by a train that was going 1,000,000 mph (not actually, there was no train). When I saved Baby Penguin, there was a HUGE gash in the top of Baby Penguin’s head and there was loads of cerebral fluid flooding out of his head. I was gonna pick Baby Penguin up again but Gabe distracted me and I ended up forgetting about Baby Penguin. He’s still lying on the railroad tracks and the little red train is probably gonna run him over. Gabe made a really bad half-court shot with a deserted basketball that we found that no one put away after break. I will insert the video in a different Padlet. I saw a Carl Azuz edit on my TikTok fyp and I’ll also insert the video in the other Padlet. Carl Azuz is from CNN10 by the way.

Here’s the real news and how I see it: Today is Wednesday, and when I left my house I almost got nocked over by the wind! 😂 I am not joking. The truth is I love colder weather, but some of it I can not stand. Like WIND! Now, on to my topic of the day. PUMPKINS! Specifically, pumpkin patches. Just this weekend I went to Bauman’s Farm. It’s located around Gervais. When I left my house, it was so cold, I had four layers on. When I got there, I took of two of them. It was super fun! I went through the corn maze, dark maze, labyrinth maze, and the hay maze. We also went on a lot of slides. I know slides are kind of childish, but these one are so steep and bumpy. They are so much fun! We also went on the hay ride. We had such a great time.

My next topic today is animals. In my opinion, I love animals. I love them so much that I have eight. Five are cats, two are dogs, and the last one is a fish. His name is Gill. So, I love animals, right? Though sometimes they can get out of hand. Take tonight for example. We got home, my family was sitting in are living room while three of are cats were in there too. One of my cats starts to leave but spooked the other one and BOOM! They collided, they get spooked, they all ran off. The one stayed inside, but her eyes were wide open and the hair on her back was straight up.

Well that’s it for this week! See you next week for the Real News.

My real news is, yesterday I did this thing with my youth group where we all went to the fir point farms corn maze at night. The leaders gave us 3 cards and every time we got jump scared by another person or a leader we gave them a card. I lost all my 3 cards within like 5 minutes. I was with my friend Madi and after a while of being in the corn maze we would hide in the corn and jump out of people to try to get cards. The reason for the cards is, when we finish running around in the corn maze and scaring people everyone came out. And whoever collected the most cards would get a prize. Madi and me attempted to combine our cards to see if we could win, but we weren’t the only ones with that idea. A bunch of other people did what we did and their total of cards was like 30, while we only got 7.

My next topic is about basketball. I just found out a couple days ago that I made the competitive 7-8th basketball team with a bunch of my friends. I’m really excited about this because most of the girls on my team I’ve played with before so it feels good to be on a team with them because we worked really good together, and most of the time got along. The only people that I haven’t played with in the past I know from school, camp, or just in general. There is only one girl who I didn’t know very well but she was really nice.

To start off, I have some kind of exciting news. I was having a pretty bad night yesterday and then I got a text from the beloved Sasha Griffin saying congrats. I hadn’t done anything worth congratulations so I was confused, until I realized that it was in fact October 20th at 7:20pm. Unlike my peers I completely forgot that the cast list had come out just 20 minutes before. I checked it, and I’m pretty sure (I honestly forget exactly what the role is) it’s a major speaking part. I found that pretty cool since I thought I was gonna get chorus. So instead of being a singing bible thing I get to be a be a mean 11 year old which is not gonna be hard for me. Maybe some day, if I work at it and have the right motivations, I can finally become more popular than my nemesis, Ed Sheeran. I don’t care about any performance related things, just being better than Ed.

On another note, the band concert is next week. It’s pretty exciting I guess, I’m definitely looking forward to it, but I don’t have high hopes for beginning band. I feel bad for my parents because we sound terrible but we’re trying. I’m doing pretty good at tuba and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in under two months. Tuba is a really nice instrument and I enjoy playing it (it is NOT a baritone I just have the smallest tuba I would never ever play baritone) Something that I really enjoy about band is that we do not ruin our ears with the sinful parasite known as country music! I’ve come to the conclusion that nobody can possible voluntarily like it so I’m sorry that you’ve been plagued with this horrible disease, I hope one day, one lovely day we find a cure…

My brother went to homecoming or prom or whatever it is a bit ago, whatever dance it was at the high school, and most of the people that went got a cold afterwards. Yeah. So did he. So he got a sore throat, cough, and runny/stuffy nose, and now he gave it to me. Well, the cough and stuffy nose part. It sucks. So now, I have to stay home today and figure out how to get all my work done, AND my symptoms at bay. And i did get a negative COVID test, so it’s safe for me to come back when I can, hopefully tomorrow. Doing this stuff from home is EXTREMELY annoying, as I’m just sitting here in my room on my IPad, all alone and annoyed as heck. I miss hearing people’s voices and seeing people other than my dad. Although there are some good sides….

So the “good side” I was talking about, I have a condition that requires me to get my blood drawn once a year, but I’m terrified of needles. The good part is, I have mostly overcome that fear and was able to successfully get a blood draw today without screaming somehow. And it only took being stabbed with a needle 3 times to get my blood removed from my body to run tests! That sounds more horrifying than it actually was. It wasn’t that bad, I just have a “flair for the dramatic”. I got it done, and my mom made it so she or my dad would buy me some small thing I wanted to motivate me to stay on top of it and keep me on top of my fear. But my dad has a thing for getting extra things, like a trip to Disneyland at least once a year with my mom, and going to Cali. So, I asked for a plushie from my favorite youtuber’s collection, and he got me three, and ended up going waaay over my expectations. So now I have three dolls coming in Nov-Dec!

Hi everyone

This week a historic moment happened, Larry the Goat got *cough*tied for*cough* first in the Blooket we did yesterday. This is amazing. Let’s all sit in silence and we remember that wonderful moment… OK moving on. The fall play auditions were these past few days and we find out who we got today, so if I come to school tomorrow smiling widely, it probably means I got the mother in the show, but the chances of me getting her are 👎 very low. There’s like a girl named Nona (sorry if I spelled that wrong) who is sooooo going to be the mom if she wants to, but Lily also has a huge chance of getting the part. So my chances are very low. Fingers crossed 🤞.

I can’t wait for Halloween, I’m going to be Zelda (if you don’t know what that is look at the picture above) and I’m really excited about that. My mom and I are going to work on my costume this weekend and I can’t wait. That’s all for today.

Bye!!!

-Juliette R. Mellander

The poor thing had a concussion.
Also, I have been studying Chinese food in health class. Turns out I have never had real Chinese food. Also Fred Myers food isn’t ffresh. My life is a lie.

Before and after auditions: Today is the last day of the school play auditions for “The Best Pagent Ever” and I’m really nervous. The thing is, I don’t know anything about this play. I mean NOTHING. But mostly I’m really excited because I’ve never done something like this and most of my friends are doing it so it will be really fun! Plus, I am really hoping I get a part in the play, even if I don’t get a relatively big part in the show. It will be so much fun, I just know it!

A day after the cast list was posted: I am an ANGEL/SHEPHERD! Even though I’m going to be in the background, It turns out that a lot of people dropped out so I’m not just playing an angel/shepherd. I am going to be an understudy for Beth! I am also going to be another character but I’m not sure who. So I have three parts in the show and I’m SO excited! I am also so excited to be part of the play with most of my friends! It was so awesome and great to see my friends get the roles that they wanted! I am so so SO HAPPY for them! And if you are reading this and in the play, CONGRATS! Anyways that’s the real news as I see it.

Welcome to life in middle school. One of my topics today is going to be about sports especially cross country today. I just finished a meet and it was my last one and it was for the championships. I am going to miss cross country but I am excited to come back to it next year and do the other sports this year. I’m kind of sad that I missed language arts today but this meet was really fun. I also am kinda sad I missed the last part of the hitch hiker because it was so good and I have so many questions. That is all on the sports and language arts class topic today.

Here’s the other part of middle school, I auditioned for the play and I really wanted to be the backstage. Thankfully I got it, it seems like fun but like a lot of my friends are saying you should be on the stage of lines but honestly i am really happy that I got the backstage. I am definitely going to audition in the spring and maybe go on the stage with a few lines but I am really excited to be back stage and do the technology and other stuff. I will probably even see high schoolers! That is all for today, please give this a like and comment below.👌

Recently there have been people going into the school bathrooms and vandalizing them. It’s really not smart because there are cameras in the halls. Also you have to scan the hall pass. So staff can watch the cameras and see what time someone goes in and they can see what time that person filled out the hall pass. I feel really bad for the custodian though because he has to clean the messes that people make. They may think they are playing a joke but it’s making the custodian’s job a lot harder. Imagine you were a custodian and someone was doing things like that where you work. You would be really tired and you would probably be pretty angry with whoever is making your job harder.
