I have chosen Egypt as my Country. Most of the population is classified as naive Egyptian, while a small portion being Greek, Turk, and Bedouin. The official language is Arabic, but English and French are sometimes used in business and education purposes. The state religion is Islam with 90% of the population being Muslim.

Many Egyptian women wear western clothing. Now Egyptian women have more freedom to choose between being a housewife or working. There are only about 1/4 of women who choose to work. Women have the same rights as mean, although some inequality does exist. The literacy rate in women is about 60 percent. Now a days, young people are allowed to choose their own partners, with a legal marriage age of 18 for both men and women. Polygamy is allowed with permission. Many women still use their maiden names after they are married.

When you are greeted, Egyptians of the same sex kiss each cheek while shaking hands. While Egyptians of the opposite sex may only shake hands, men usually wait for the women to offer her hand, if her hand is not offered a nod is standard. Egyptians meet each person of every group individually, even if strangers. Only close associates address each other by their first name alone. Am (uncle) is commonly used to address males, used for all male friends and family. Egyptians like to enjoy conversations with topics such as the weather, sports, or politics. While talking about female relatives can be offensive.

I have chosen Italy as my country of focus. A vast majority of Italy’s population is identified as Italian,
and some other European groups such as Italo-Albanians and Germans make up the rest of the population. The official language of the country is Italian, and nearly ninety-three percent of their population speak Italian as their native language. Everyone else in Italy speaks a variety of languages ranging from French to Slovenian.

A Family is one of the strongest values of Italian culture. Loyalty and commitment play a big role in their families. Families with the Mother as the center piece are believed to remain close-knit to one another. There are always large family dinners, and extended family members are considered immediate family. You will always know who everyone is, and Italians believe that there is no such thing as a first or second cousin. They are simply just known as cousins.

The main religion that is practiced in Italy is Roman Catholicism. Roman Catholics and other Christians make up eighty percent of the population, though it should be noted that only one-third of them are practicing Catholics. Vatican City is the hub of Roman Catholicism, and this is where the Pope resides. Italy has seen an increase of Muslim immigrant communities, and they along with agnostic and atheist make up the remaining twenty percent of the population.

I chose Germany as my country of choice for this assignment. Germany is located in Western Europe, Berlin being its capital. The population is made up of 91.5 percent of Germans. Second largest is Turkish. The official language of Germany is German, about 95 percent speak that as their primary language.
Evidently, obtaining a educations is very very important to the German community. Also they come from a very, close and well rounded family. Each showing full respect and showing their manners to all. Religion is also another important value in the community. Sixty-five percent of the population are followers of the christian religion and evenly split with the Lutheran-Protestantism. Germans really enjoy eating meat , yes lots of meat. And with side dishes they like to keep it small. Famous for their blood sausages made from blood, interesting right? Another thing you will notice if you visit Italy is that 90 percent of the houses are mad of brick and brick only, they believe and foundation regardless.

I have chosen Brazil as my country. Majority of Brazil’s population is classified as Brazilian Natives. Brazil also has an immigration of Africans and Europeans. They call this combination of people “Pardo” or “Brown people”, which combines Brazilian natives, Europeans, and African ancestry. “Preto’s” is the term used to describe Brazilians of African descent or ancestry. They can also be classified as Afro-Brazilian. Preto’s make up 7.61% of the population. Brazilian natives make up the rest of the population. The official language of Brazil is Portuguese. Portuguese is spoken by over ninety percent of brazils population. Brazil is the only country in South America that speaks Portuguese.

Brazil is known for being the melting pot of religion. Brazil is pretty diverse of culture and heritage. Ninety percent of brazil is connected to some religion and only one percent does not believe in God. Three-quarters of the population are Roman Catholics. There are more Catholics in brazil than any other country in the world. Main churches in brazil are catholic, protestant, Methodist, Baptist, etc. Family values run deep in Brazilian households. The traditional Brazilian family consists of a husband, wife and children. Traditional values structure this household. Recently the family structure has changed causing more single parent households, but this doesn’t put a stop to being a close family. Another family value of brazil is keeping children close even when they are adults. When children marry they often live near the parents. Also, Brazilians do not believe in putting their grandparents in nursing homes, they often live with their children. Brazilians truly believe in togetherness and don’t really have issues with personal space and proper etiquette in their culture is to engage in conversations and being open.

I have chosen Honduras as my country to speak on. The official language which is spoken in this country is Spanish. The main cultural group includes the Chortí, citizens with a population of nearly five thousand in the sector of Copán. There could still be a small number of people who can speak the Chortí language, which belongs to the Mayan family. The Lenca are a resident in the regions of La Paz, Intibucá, and Lempira, as well as a number of other areas. The Lenca language is wiped out, and ethnically the Lenca are alike in numerous ways to the other Spanish-speaking people in the country.
Honduras is in the heart of Central America. The climate is tropical and humid, with a lengthy dehydrated season in the south and the internal environment and a brief dry season in the north. The middle of the country was initially enclosed with pine and broadleaf woodland of oak and additional trees, nevertheless a great deal of the pine woods has been consolidated and a large amount of the oak woods has been cut for agriculture. The north coast was previously mainly rain forest; however a lot of it has been emptied for marketable banana agricultural estates.
A solid handshake is a greeting, and people shake hands again when they leave one another. If they speak any longer after the last handshake, they will shake hands once more as they leave. Between educated people, when two women address one another or when a man greets a woman, they grip their right hands and push their cheeks together or give a delicate kiss on the cheek. Men occasionally hug each other with a solid, fast, and slap on the back, particularly if they have not seen one another for a bit and are warm toward each other. This is more frequent in the cities. People may look an unfamiliar person in the eye and smile at them.

The country that I have chosen to do was Spain. The official name of Spain is Kingdom of Spain. The official language of Spain is Spanish, but there are more such as, Catalan, Basque, Occitan, and Galician. Spain doesn’t have an official religion, but 90% of the population identify as Catholic. Spain’s population is a mixture of people from Latin America, East Europe, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

In the Spanish culture, the communication skills are very interesting. It is disrespectful to talk about or brag on your accomplishments. They don’t believe that you should boast about your accomplishments to prove yourself to people. The thought of fighting or having confrontation with someone is rare in the Spanish culture. Conflict is often avoided because the Spanish culture have strict protocol when it comes to communicating.

The coming together over food is a big cultural value in Spain. The culture shows a lot of respect when it comes down to having dinner with one another. When the food is brought out, always keep your hands visible when eating. You aren’t supposed to eat until the hostess starts to eat. The most important rule is that you never leave the table before the hostess does.

The gender roles in Spain are changing dramatically because women are starting to go into the workforce more. Women were the housewives, stay-at-home moms, and cater to their husbands. The women are starting to go to college at a young age and build their careers before families.

I've chosen Japan as my country of focus during my research. The official language of Japan Japanese, but with different dialects depending on the city one lives in. However, on the smaller islands of Ryukyan in Japan, there are fourteen languages that are known within this culture. Japan has two religions that the majority of people practice; Shinto and Buddism. Shinto is Japan's traditional religion that focuses on ritual practices that keep Japan tied to it's original roots of origin. Buddism however, was adapted from the main land in the sixth century.

In the Japanese culture, communication comes with a specific etiquette. Non verbal communication is an important part of their culture. It's common for people to speak with no facial expression and keep their bodies stiff so they won't come off as offensive. Respect is a huge value in Japanese culture, and making sure one doesn't feel too comfortable with approaching a stranger is key. Also, it is very important to not introduce yourself when coming in contact with someone for the first time. Someone familiar to that person has to introduce you. It's also important to make sure you bow after being introduced. Bowing in Japanese culture is like shaking someone's hand. The further down you bow, the more respect you're showing.

Table manners is also a big value in Japanese culture. For starter, one has to be told where to sit. However, the guess of honor or the eldest of the family has to always sit in the middle seat to be surrounded by loved ones in a sense. The middle seat is seen with respect. It's also very important that one does not mix rice with any of their food because it's looked down upon. While eating noodles or soup it is important to slurp because it's symbolic to the chef that their food is good.
The Japanese culture is very strict in it's rules of reputation and respect, but helps maintain their society with preserving tradition.

I have chosen Trinidad and Tobago as my country. Trinidad and Tobago is an island country in the Caribbean, located just north of the South American coastline. It consists of two islands. Trinidad, the larger island is the industrial center, dominated by East Indian heritage. While Tobago is the tourist spot with an Afro-Caribbean feel to it. The British took over this country after the Spanish. Later on, East Indians started coming in as laborers after slavery was abolished. This accounts for the cultural diversity of the country and makes it distinct from other Caribbean countries.

East Indians and Africans make up a huge portion of the population. Apart from them Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabs and Amerindians, the original settlers are noteworthy. The people are referred to as Trinis or Trinbagonians. They are known for holding the biggest Carnival in the Caribbean every year. People dress up in colorful costumes and take part in different games like stick fighting and limbo. Calypso music developed along with Carnival and it quickly became the voice of the people. Soca and Steelband gained popularity as well.

Trinidad and Tobago saw economic progress in the hands of the British. Today, it is the wealthiest country in the Caribbean, thanks to its huge oil and gas reserves. Extended families are common and guests are normally entertained at home. Among the popular sports are football and cricket, resulting from British influence. Apart from that, goat racing is also a popular sport, where the players run alongside the goats and guide them with a leash and whip.
