Outer Ear

Includes the Pinna and External Auditory Canal
- Functions : Collects sound waves, helps locate the source of sounds and enhances reception of certain frequencies

Middle Ear

Tympanic membrane (eardrum), ossicles (malleus, incus, stapes) , and Eustachian tube
- Functions : The tunnel from outer to inner, its like a transit train for sound. Regulates air pressure and drains fluids .

Inner Ear

Compromises cochlea, vestibule and semicircular canals
- Functions : Interpreter, decided to send signals to brain or not (this is where fight or flight can be sensed), main organ of hearing , helps coordinated movement with your body to the according sound.

The purpose of the special senses auditory system is to be responsible for detecting sound and converting them to never reactors that can be interpreted by the brain. Your ears are part of protectors of your body, they are always determining what needs to be responded to or not.
