         <description><![CDATA[<div>The slaves were not treated fairly, the british owners chose to ignore the fact that they need a rest after travelling in the slave ship for such a long journey (middle passage ) of 80 days. <br><br>They lived in wet and damp places and had heavy workload during the day. Slaves were beaten by the british owners, this resulted to a infection and tropical diseases, and most of them died due to the harsh environments. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Slaves were transported from Western Africa to Southern America, and there were 250-600 slaves in that ship, slaves were cramped together in  the basement of the ship and do not have much space between each other (Slaves could have a space about five feet three inches high and four feet four inches wide)<br>Meaning they do not have any space for walking or extra activities.  </div>]]></description>

They had to all stay in a cramped area, it was very unhygienic which caused diseases upon them like scurvy.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In his 1851 publication of his journal, <em>Dahomey and the Dahomeyans</em>, Frederick Forbes gave an account of the slave trade in the Kingdom of Dahomey. Forbes had been sent to the kingdom as an officer of England's Royal Navy; his mission was to convince the King to suppress Dahomey's involvement with the slave trade.<br><br>Through his journal, Forbes hoped to bring to the public's attention the dreadful slave hunts then taking place. He described Dahomey's tactics in acquiring slaves: they systematically attacked neighboring states, siezing the natives and annexing the newly acquired land.<br><br><em>The Slave Chain</em> is an illustration from <em>Dahomey and the Dahomeyans</em>.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Due to the long distance, also known as the death march that the slaves have to walk, about half of all slaves died during the walking process. They were also treated like an object and property to be bought and sold rather than an actual human being. Some slaves also died from diseases due to the unhygienic environment and some also died due to the intense labor workload. They also received harsh punishments like beating and raping.</div>]]></description>
