In terms of my own identity in education I feel that my own identity has grown to be more self aware. I see myself exerting more confidence in my ability to read, write, listen and communicate information to others. I feel that I have allowed myself to become more comfortable. As a child and young person in school, I never felt this way. I felt shy and scared to participate in learning experiences. It is now that I see learning more as an experience.

I vividly remember a day at the end of kindergarten when another girl in the class was reading to the teacher. I was puzzled. I turned to the teacher and asked, "When did she learn to do that?" This situation was true for many of my experiencing throughout elementary and middle school. Thankfully, my identity changed as I saw past my challenges to my strengths.

As a young child I was really not confident. I have transformed by gaining confidence in my adult years. And especially after earning my teaching degree I felt empowered.

Alejandra Muñoz

My education has completely shifted my identity. English is my second language and i didn’t really learn it until I started to attend college. I started speaking it shortly before. My likes, my abilities, my culture it’s conpletly transformed. As oppose to my first language having two has made me a better reader and a better writer.
