Anna Garcia was found in the Gentry Life Science Building. Upon our arrival, Anna Garcia was dead on the ground for an unknown amount of time. Around her, there were blood spatters, blowflies and their eggs, her phone, a tipped over bottle, hair, and a note in her pocket. There was also a cart beside her with tools on it.

Name: Anna Garcia
Age: 20 years old
Gender: Female
Occupation: Intern at Gentry Life Science Lab

There is not much evidence about her recent activities before her death. She posts on social media regarding working in the lab late the night before. Her body was discovered by Taylor Diaz, but other than that, we have no evidence of persons with her at the time of death.

None of the suspects had clear motive to kill her, and evidence shows that she may have died by accident. No DNA found at the scene points towards a suspect, and blood spatter tests show no external force on her way down. She may have fallen and hit her head on the lab cart, but we can't conclude anything yet.

There was one hair sample found at the scene of the crime, and after fairly thorough testing, we concluded that it belonged to Anna. This evidence is inconclusive and doesn't eliminate suspects. The only thing it really does is help confirm Anna's identity.

Location: found on the handwritten note

To figure out who's fingerprints were on the glass and notes, we analyzed the minutiae and patterns of each persons' of interest's fingerprints. We determined that the fingerprint on the note is Eric Piedmont's, because they are both loops and they have the most similar minutiae. They both had a fork on the top left, a ridge ending on the top right, a short ridge on the top right, and a fork on the bottom right. We also determined that the fingerprint on the glass is Anna Garcia's fingerprint because it's a whirl and Anna is the only person who has a whirl. Other than that, they both also had a fork in the middle, a bridge on the right, and a ridge ending on the right.

Evidence: Blood

There were two blood stains found at the scene of the crime. After extensive testing we were able to make some conclusions about what may have happened. One of the things that we did was blood typing to see who may have been at the scene. After discovering that both blood samples were type A, we matched those with persons of interest who also had type A blood. Those ended up being Eric Piedmont, Dominique Hall and the victim, Anna Garcia herself. Further DNA testing would show that the blood was indeed Anna's blood. Prior to the blood typing though, we did spatter tests on the drops. We found that the larger the spatter patterns were, the higher they would've fallen from. Using this information we found out that the the blood on the floor had fallen from around the height of the cart. Indicating that she may have hit her head on the cart and then proceeded to bleed out on the floor. We also used the spatters of blood to determine that there was little to no external force from the blood falling.

Our current explanation of what happened to Anna is that something happened that caused her to hit her head on the cart and die. This is because the blood spatters at the scene fell from the height of the cart and there was no external force on them. We think that her cause of death is not natural, but we haven't narrowed anything else down.
