I personally would feel annoyed as getting stuck in an MRT station would mean that I might be late to wherever I am going as I tend to leave my house just in time. And furthermore, getting stuck in a crowd at the MRT station would mean that it would be extremely stuffy, and it would feel very uncomfortable for both me and definitely the other passengers. I am sure that nobody would like to get stuck in a crowd at the MRT station, especially when rushing to a place.

As a resident staying at the North Zone, I would like to see that trains come and go at a faster rate. Though Singapore is known as a fast paced country, I feel that in transport wise, we are not efficient enough compared to the other countries. Furthermore, considering that Singapore is a small dot on the map but has a huge population, I would say that there are more room for improvements in our transportation. For example, when I took the MRT last Sunday on the way for tuition, I noticed that the next train would only come in the next 15 minutes. Personally, I feel that we could improve by shortening the waiting time, and I believe that this can be done as Singapore is an extremely small country compared to others, and it would be much easier to shorten the waiting time for the public transport.

Definitely, I would agree that having flexible working hours would be one the best way to solve commuting problems. In fact just recently, my English teacher shared her experience with us on her past job, telling us that her company allows their employees from the different departments to go for their breaks at different timings. In fact, I feel that this is an extremely good idea, as it can not only solve the issue of having many people travelling from one place to another all at the same time, but can also solve the issue of the canteens having to be flooded with employees

Not to mention during the ride most of the time as there are just too many people, it is hard to find something to hold on to hence when the train stops abruptly it is hard to remain stable causing a chain of human dominoes toppling over one another.

royden

I do not have much of problem with the public transport system in my area however during the time when i am currently working as part time.

By having more flexible working hours, it would definitely help in solving commuting problems. However due to the fact that all adults needs to provide a living in Singapore, it would be hard as Singapore's living standard is too high hence if every employee have flexible working hours the company might not be able to sustain any further hence though it may help in solving commuting problems like different people leaving work at different times to prevent crowding in MRTs, but due to the negative result of having flexible working hours therefore i would only agree to a certain extend.

royden
