My name is Caylin Koplan. Devin probably knows me as Ms.Koplan. I'm currently a USF intern in Devins 2nd grade classroom and got to see his growth/progress since the beginning of the year. I have gotten the chance to work with Devin throughout this semester and really get an understanding of his learning needs. I chose Devin for my little library because of his amazing love for learning/reading and his kindness towards everything around him. I have conducted short interviews with Devin to understand his interest and the types of books he enjoys. 

In this Padlet, you will find many books that are on Devins reading level and will hopefully inspire him to read based off his interests. The books provided you can find at you local library, buy, or you can even borrow if the school has them. You can feel free to use any of these to read with Devin or for him to read himself. They are all based on my collected data/knowledge. 

I have chosen many animal books because he loves cats and dogs. He wants everything to do with cats on a book, in a book, and especially if they are the main character. Devin also has expressed his passion for wanting to be a Firefighter so I created a whole section about learning to become one! 

All of the books I chose are academically suitable for him to read and are chosen of high interest to Devin. I provided links to purchase any of the books provided in my little library and summaries underneath the book pictures for Devin to read. 

I hope Devin and your family enjoy these selected books and grows his love for reading. These books will hopefully help Devin increase his passion for reading by 3rd grade! Feel free to have Devin read them himself or have someone read with him. I know he loves to read to adults! I hope you all enjoy the stories!

You told me that one of the things you love the most are nature and animals. Some I included some interesting fun books about animals and nature. Especially about cats since they are your favorite animals! I also created a separate category for sports since you told me you just started basketball and it's your favorite sport. 

One of my favorite sections I made for you is about Firefighters. I know that is your dream job one day, so I provided some insightful books about being a Firefighter. These books will help you dive deeper and discover new pieces of information you didn't know! 

Finally, I created a section all about action books. Like Magic Tree House and more! I know you crave adventure and love to image crazy ones represented through your writing in class. It's always fun to image and be able to live through a book!
